One of the reasons I went with stripes on my car was because only having the fender badge black on the side just seems out of place. Looking at the side everything appears silver except for the single badge that doesn't really blend with anything.

Bump to this. I'd really like to get rid of the chrome on mine, but I can't find a good guide on how to do this. Are people pulling the pieces off and spraying them? Taping it off and spraying them on the car? How does the vinyl wrap work? I'd do this tomorrow if I could find out how.

I guess I just didn't know what to search for before. Here's a good video about how to do the plastidip:

Plastidip is cool. But starts to fail too soon for my taste. I’m planning to remove all the chrome and have it painted to match the car. Seems to blend in better that way.

it was surprisingly easy. I went to autozone got chrome delete tape or it might be called black out tape, applied the tape in large strips and cut with a box cutter the excess, never done it before or anything like it and it turned out very good IMO.
I think the tape is $5 and I have plastidip and chrome delete tape on my car and the Chrome Delete tape looks and was much easier. I highly recommend it

I know there are replacement grilles but are there just black replacement trims we can buy somewhere? Neither paint or wrap are permanent and consistently look good over the years.

Have not seen one. Though quality wrap should last years and paint won't look bad any quicker than the rest of the car long as its prepped properly.

I did plastidip on the chrome on my Lexus. I believe the smooth chrome was the cause but the plasti peeled and chipped away rather quickly.
