Try zip-tying the exposed portion to a nearby loom/wireset, out of the way.

ya I am going to have to. played around yesterday and heard the knock.

the new plugs and taking care of this chafe, coupled with the MC filter and change, should eliminate this...from what Ive read anyways.

Ford wanted 615 bucks to replace plugs...and good write up on how to do it yourself? Still not sure where the wires are in terms of inspecting for rubbing.

Holy crap! I did my plugs and it was straightforward. Order the Iriduims + 6 COP boots (the $3 ones) from Rock Auto, and spend about an hour doing it.

Pop the engine cover and it's straightforward. Remove the COP, the boot, plug, replace it all and move on. Be careful on the torque and have fun. i did have to remove some of the turbo pipes but it was 2 clamps and off to go.

There is a step by step illustrated writeup for the naturally aspirated 3.5L, don't know of one for the twin turbo. Worst comes to worst, if you find a mechanically inclined friend, perhaps you can do it together?

I have a 2011 SHO that I just purchased. At first all was great. Now It's gotten sluggish. After reading this post I thought this may have been my problem. Now I’m not so sure. Can anyone tell me if these are the wires I’m looking for? I don’t see any damage to them.

The angle of the pic is different but I’m pretty positive those are the knock sensor wires. The plug with 2 pairs of wires going to it is a dead giveaway. Da6af97fa5e38e974b675a8a17869173

Thanks for the info. I don't see any wear or tear. I was hoping my problem would be an easy fix. Any suggestions on finding out what the knock sensors are reading? I'm ready to make an appointment with the dealership, but would like to narrow down what the issue is if I can.

Are there any codes in the PCM? Are there any boost leaks? Is the air filter new? Are the MAP and IAT sensors clean? Is the transmission fluid in the pink of health and at the proper level? When were the engine oil and filter changed? Some of the questions that need to be answered before we can move down the diagnostic path.

I would clean the map sensors with appropriate cleaner. They sometimes get coated oil.
There are many things that can cause sluggish performance.
Are you getting any codes?
I would check the small vacuum lines
on the intake manifold and going to the air intake tubing.
They are not clamped and have a tendency to pop off 0eb32c7cca1ffb6b8c28613aa4ddc609

Here are the map sensors.
