does anyone have the housing the oil sender screws into above the oil filter/oil cooler on the 3.4L? Where it screws in it broke in half, part numbers or used appreciated.

Almost sure that can't be found new... it's unique to 3.4L SHO engine. Just to be sure you're talking about the part holding the cooler and the filter to the engine, right ? (don't forget the 3 bolts and the gasket) I have put a photo indicating where the 3 bolts are (situating the part).

For unobtainium parts, you may try this link :
https://www.hollanderparts.com/used-auto-parts/1998/ford/taurus/engine

This site is collecting infos on cars in scrapyards in US and Canada. There are a lot of V8 SHO in any states. Sadly, the oil cooler option isn't feeded with infos for them. Try selecting any 3.4L V8 engine part, it will then indicate you which scrapyards in Louisiana or in nearest states you can find a scrapped SHO. Contact them to be sure the car still there before.

For exemple :
https://www.hollanderparts.com/used...311-00803-8-207-(3.4l,-sho)/part-30849-1282-1

This part can be found only on 3.4L V8 1996 to 1999. (Searching on others Ford engines will be a lack of time in this case.)

(Maybe SHO 3.0L and 3.2L, but I'm not sure if the part is identical... Some others members can answer this.)

For parts numbers (yours isn't there... and I don't remember seeing a number for this, maybe someone had it) :
http://www.v8sho.com/SHO/Parts List With Prices.htm

Good luck and keep us informed,

Yes, I am speaking of the adapter holding the cooler that is attached by 3 bolts. Oil was leaking from the sensor so pulled it to reteflon, upon reinsertion right before it should've been snug the hole you screw it into surround material snapped.

If any info is found on it I will update, Thanks for your reply!

Try SHOSource. I'm pretty sure they have this part available.

OK. Didn't know where it was listed on their site but when I spoke with the guys there a few months ago when I was chasing an oil leak on my '99 they mentioned they had a used part available.

I found the oil leak coming from there, now just to try the fixed one and hopefully it doesn't leak if not I'll be looking into buying that one or the above used one, then on to chasing the electrical draw.

Thanks!

Hope it works out for you. My leak turned out to the camshaft seal that's located right above the oil cooler/filter. The oil ran down onto the cooler/filter...fought that one for months. Also chased an electrical draw Might want to check the "football" media control unit. It's a common source of draw, especially if there's ever been a tape stuck in the unit. I ended up replacing the "football".

I've already unplugged the football and car still died, also unplugged the GEM fuses and the draw remained on a meter. Pretty strong one it kills a full battery in about 6 hours.

If there is still a leak then I will definitely check into that seal.

Which year is your SHO ? (I think I have a small one too.)

Broken alternator cable or toasted rear wiring harness ? Commons on SHO, but I'm not sure if these wires stay hot with key turned off... Is the car was riding good before repairs ?

It's a 1999. Charging system tested good on our (mechanics shop) tester and has never been wrong before but ive been thinking maybe something internally on the alt. is toasted and it just isnt picking it up. Not sure about the wiring harness, I've pulled all fuses related to the GEM and it didnt disappear. Maybe Antitheft? noticed the light blinking oddly the other day. Hopefully have a guy coming to look at just buying it for cheap today and let him fix the draw and oil leak.
