Alright guys, I hate to be this guy but I am having trouble picking between the 2. Gearhead or Unleashed tune. I have bought things from Unleashed and know that their customer service is superb and I am sure that their tunes are amazing from what I read. Butttttt now I am reading more and more about the auto octane Gearheads tune.....I must say....with my car being a daily driver and driving almost 2 hours for work a day....that sounds nice. I am doing downpipes and methanol very soon and am trying to figure out everybody's thoughts.

Love my Gearhead tune. Daily driver and lots of highway time. It never disappoints.

Unleashed has been around a long time in the EB game. A lot of people swear by Unleashed. Unleashed pretty removes all the torque management built into the tunes to help protect the drive train. But Torrie is good, so he makes it work.

GH improves upon the factory parameters and has incorporated a lot of new features such as Auto Octane that no one else is doing. GH tunes are probably the most developed/advanced tunes on the market right now.

My first tuner was Unleashed. Let's just say I don't run him anymore and I know use Gearhead and AJPTurbo exclusively now. These tuner preferences things always become a brawl and.... I may be one to get a little feisty ha.

What about Livernois tunes? I've heard a good amount from them, but I believe their tuners are lacking in areas compared to the rest. Thoughts?

I have tried LMS and Unleashed in my 2011, unleashed was a hair faster to 100 but a tenth of a second or so slower to 60 if I remember right. Driving around town I didn't notice a difference.

On my 2015 I have used LMS, AJP and Unleashed. The only one that has given me any issues at all was the LMS, and the customer service I received was greatly lacking. I would still recommend them for a 2010-2012 car, but would not on the 13+.

I have not used gearhead (yet), but if I were picking between unleashed and gearhead, that is probably who I would go for based off all the feedback I have seen in the last 2-3 years. His tune is $50 cheaper too I think.

What problem did you have on your LMS tune? How was their response?

This was last march/april, but it would seem to miss a shift and then rev like crazy like it was in neutral. My 93 3 bar tune worked absolutely fine for about 2 weeks, but as soon as I put my downpipes on the car and updated tune, the car would stop accelerating on a WOT from a stop, but the rpms would keep going up and hit the limiter. It was like the car just went into neutral. Sent them datalogs that showed very low fuel pressures, they said they didn't see anything out of the ordinary in the logs. The last email I sent them after that I said I was still having the issue and I never got a response after that.

It only got addressed because I posted about it here and they contacted me after that. They sent me an updated tune, I'm not really sure if I still have the issue or not, I've been running AJP tune since then with zero issues. I have loaded their tune a time or two since then with the intention of seeing if I have the issue or if it is fixed, but I can never bring myself to go WOT because normal driving around just doesn't feel right compared to what I am used to.

They are very nice and apologetic and make you think they want to set things right, but I have literally had issues 4 out of the 5 times I have dealt with them.

Good to know, I’ve been looking at LMS for a tune, but I may have to keep doing my research on gearhead

GEARHEAD! Just because I'm using him and love it! Last tune was LMS - I won't go into it, there's 2 massive threads on this already, just look around the forum. I hear great things about AJPturbo also.

That is exactly why I prefer Brad over Torrie. Torrie answers emails immediately but don't expect any details. If I am doing datalogging, I want to know specifics of what the tuner sees, and what he plans to do next. As I review the logs myself and have questions, I like to get answers.

Lots of people have had that issue with them, myself included. Also their support is clueless and condescending, even blaming my exhaust then pushing their own system instead of being able to adjust the tune instead. Stay as far from LMS as you can.

LMS tuned here and I personally have had 0 troubles communicating with them over the last 3 years. Called two weeks ago to talk with Dave about some options and I could tell he was in the shop and busy, but he went somewhere quiet to answer a few questions for me. However, Gearhead's AO tune sounds pretty slick and if I wasn't already tuned, I'd probably opt to go that route or with Brad (ajpturbo) because I have read great things of him as well.

I have tried three and tested each on a dyno

5 Star Tuning
Unleashed
Livernois

Livernois has been in the car for two years not one single issue.

I am running the Borla Ford Performance exhaust and Livernois CAI as well as a 3 Bat Map Sensor and strictly 93 Octane

3 BAR Map Sensor, you get the idea. Anyone know how to change your signature? I realized after this post obviously my 'tune' information in the signature needs an update
