I'm thinking of selling my 2014 SHO. With it having some different mods and performance upgrades I wasn't sure the best way to advertise or sell it. I've sold vehicles through CarMax before. But never a vehicle that had significant upgrades or mods. Amy feedback or recommendations from anyone?

from what i gather, selling through carmax gets you best value for a STOCK vehicle. sell your performance upgrades separately for better returns.

Or if time pressure is not present, place ads in various taurus/sho related forums and enthusiast magazines to sell the car as is. Sometimes ebay listings work as a backstop. Not sure about craigslist (for the gen 4/5 SHO).

I posted my stock SHO on Craigslist last month and got 4-5 responses, all but one of which were scams.

I really should have saved all of the oem stuff. Unfortunately I don't have any of the original parts I replaced. It sounds like CarMax I may be able to get close to 20k. Not sure how much extra i can get elsewhere. I suppose it comes down to just finding a buyer who wants the mods I have already.

Besides this forum, any other forums or car sites you recommend listing on?

Yea Craigslist has quite a few scams. Even moreso when you're selling a vehicle.

Taurus forums in general are a good place to post. I see many sho owners active on there. Idk if f150 or mustang/svt forums would be a good pace to do so ...

Believe it or not, upgrades will have no effect, if not negatively effect price of vehicle. Return to stock, and advertise as such. Maybe say, I I have this tuner and intake, but never got around to installing. BTW, what do you have, as I’m looking to start modifying. Thank you
