2014 SHO Adaptive Shifting After Tune

Installed the 93 octane Livernois tune on my vehicle on Tuesday. I've read all about the adaptive shifting and understand that it takes time and miles for it to learn everything again. I've put about 130 miles of all types of driving on it since Thursday and while I've noticed a huge difference between Tuesday and Wednesday, I was sort of expecting to feel the same change between Wednesday and today. A hard 0-60 pull is out of the question right now. It is downright violent shifting hard from 2nd to 3rd gear. 5th and 6th are dealt with flawlessly and at great, incredible, delicious speed.

Anyone have more insight on how long the vehicle tends to take to learn how to have a transmission again or have any tips on how to make this process less stressful?

I may be speaking out of turn, as I've never tuned my SHO (yet), but if it's that violent from 2nd to 3rd, I'd be talking to Livernois about it immediately.

All the adaptive learning in the world won't fix that. In my humble opinion.

Depends on how ******* the throttle I am. If I'm foot down it can be pretty rough. If I'm behaving it's a gentle but noticeable change like every gear was on day 1.

If it's violent to the point where you won't go WOT on a pull, I would talk to them and maybe they will reduce the shift pressure. After 130 miles if it's still violent to the point you won't do a pull with it then something needs adjusted in the tune.

MY, miles, maintenance history, wheels/tires ...? Shift pressure is one thing they can def adjust in the tune. But if you have traction issues (usually tires/road surface/tire pressure) that will show up. Maybe the trans fluid is old/low/overfull. Does the PTU look ok/has it burped/vented?

give it about 80 to 100 miles, or lots of city driving . Im going to reflash mine because it been about a month since last i flashed it .

Mine doesn’t take long for normal shifting to get right. WOT shifting has always been very firm regardless of how many miles I put on it. I doubt it’ll get any better unless you ask them to update the tune with a softer shift. What version tune are you running?

Firm always...yes. Violent to the point of avoiding WOT....NO! I always found that 80-100 miles or even fewer in city driving would get it to its permanent behavior.

The Livernois tunes have always caused the occasional violent shift for me. It is rare and seems to be under specific circumstances....low speed light throttle, and high summer temps.
I talked to them several years ago about it and they shrugged me off. I have learned the circumstances and try to adjust my driving to prevent it. I've also found that a restart of the car seems to temp fix it...weird...
90k miles later and no tran issues....yet.

I contacted them and they offered me a softer shifting version of the same tune. Made a huge difference.
