Copper washers for F.I. manafold crossover

Had to remove the tube mounting on the crossover end so I can line up the injectors, by myself when I replace the injectors. There are two small copper washers on that one end I removed. I think they are crush washers, but are solid.
Where can I find such washers, as the old ones are surly very hard after all these years, and will probably leak when pressurized. Larry

You keep the old ones? I haven't had my eyes on those in years. Do they resemble the crush washers on brake calipers where the brake hose/line and banjo bolt attach? An auto parts store should have an assortment of sizes if you can match them up. Or the dealer??

Like he said^. While not really a "crush" washer, they are a soft copper alloy that is the same as brake line washers. But just so you know, they use the same type of sealing washers in old WW2 airplanes and they re-use the old ones.

Thanks' Guy's I looked at the auto parts assortment , and they are not a good match. I will take your advice and use the old ones. I can pressurize the fuel system without installing the intake, so I can see if it leaks. Larry

You may not even need copper. They also sell what look like aluminum for some brake banjo applications. I would try the old ones and if you still need any new ones-- Pep Boys used to have a ton of stuff in bins but they may have changed what they stock (I think I remember less stuff on the shelf when I looked last year). You can also check the local ford dealer parts for something to try and match. Other than that, you can get good inner and outer diameter measurements and poke around the internet and track something down.

I used a copper washer from a powerstroke diesel oil pan drain plug several years back. Thickness and inner diameter were nearly perfect.

No leaks, no issues.

just a warning, don' t lose those washers, I had to try and find new ones when I removed mine. I tried every washer and o-ring combination and I couldn't find a way to get a good seal. so after enough times I accidentally caused a spark grounding out on the manifold and caused a fire. I have to go through and replace a lot of stuff, just be careful.

I have always reused my copper washers... they are definately reusable.

Take a torch and heat them really hot but do not melt them. It anneals them and makes them soft again so that they will seal. When you heat them they swell and soften up and then they can be used over and over.
