After you buy it, you have to have it unlocked by LMS and reprogrammed to your ECU and Strategy... It's $300 to do so.

Wait, wait, wait. A brand new tuner from LMS is $600. Tunes are free. Why buy used then?
Because he has someone selling him a 3Bar MAP, CAI or KN filter, plus the tuner for $300... He pays LMS $300 for the unlock and tunes... $600 total vs $600 for just the tuner..

No one should pay $74 for a 3 bar sensor. They are sold on Rock Auto for about 1/2 that price. I believe they are also significantly cheaper from the Ford dealer.

I would also buy the used deal. Just pointing out a 3 bar for $74 is a terrible price comparison.

I would also make sure that the unlock fee includes moving it to another ford if you ever sell it and get another ford. That's part of the reason I went with them, when my SHO dies I plan on replacing it with another. I know they offer that when you buy the device directly from them, but I don't know if that still applies if you just buy one second hand and pay the unlock fee.

So I was told it was a complete relicense of the mycalibrator unit to the new owner. But that is a good question to ask.

Here's what Anthony from LMS replied when I inquired regarding the used tuner I purchased ($340 for tuner and Airaid - you got a better deal). Hopefully he won't object to my quote.

"Thank you for your interest in our products and services!

Have you confirmed with the original owner of the tuner that they returned the stock tune to their vehicle first before parting ways with the tuner? We can remotely re-initialize the Mycal tuning devices once they have been un-paired from the ECU of the 1st vehicle by returning it to stock. The tuner is still going to be VIN married to that vehicle, be we can resolve this through software updates VIA the internet using our tuner update application software. The tuner transfer - re-license fee to get this process started once you have confirmed the other vehicle was put back to stock is $300 currently. This would cover resetting the device remotely and adding new credits to it which would allow you to tune your vehicle with the device. This re-license fee would then register the tuner to you and give you access to our unlimited tune updates and lifetime support that we offer our Mycal tuner customers which is free of charge from then on including support with tunes for the next vehicle you own if supported by that device (so long as you put this one back to stock when selling)."

This was in June & I haven't yet found the disposable $ to make it happen yet, hopefully the price hasn't changed.

OK, I got a reply from them today and he said that changes were made and I got to send it in to them instead of doing it myself after payment.. Just more of a waste of time and shipping costs.... And a delay of getting a tune...
