Its not good. I am 90% sure my motor is seized. I was driving just fine. I did not rev it past 4000rpm. And i torqued everything down to spec.

I was driving and it seemed like a cam gear slipping but i knew it wasnt this time. I was pulling onto the shoulder when my oil light flickered at me then not even enough time to look up at the road i heard something grind then my motor stalled completely. But in drive it did not lurch or **** the car when it seized up. It just sounded like a smack and it died like a bad tps sensor makes it die...
So i put it in neutral and coasted into a parking lot where my car is now sitting with a no crank issue.
It clicks like a starter gone bad... Just it has additional noise like a smack in a way.

I removed my oil cap and a lot of smoke came out of it. My oil is grey but no debris on the dip stick. Hopefully it is just the heads as crappy as that sounds. Because as long as the block is good i can fix it...

This sucks. Big time... But i will pull it apart tonight with my construction lights and see what happened and where and what broke.

Any ideas?

Could a primary cam sprocket fail causing the motor to seize?

Could a timing chain guide break causing this?

Could this be timing chain tensioner related?

Could the knock sensors have caused this since they were broken?

What about oil pump failure? Do they fail on our motors commonly?

Where would you start?????

Just got my car back. And well im not sure what the heck could ha e caused this....

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-GvkM12QEbMTDkwUjVhekstWFk/view?usp=drivesdk

Cylinder 8 plug was smashed by my piston head.....

Did i throw a rod? Camshaft time maybe poped the heads of the valves off which in turn was smashed up against the plug?

Im dumbfounded here.......

Edit....... The culprit was my Timing chain stretched to the point of separation.

Maybey 2 new heads again..... I have the cams..... Hopefully the cylinder walls are okay.

Im not going to throw in the towel. I think i have a good block on that donor car if mine is cracked or if i damaged the cylinder walls.

This car is not going to win. I will fix her one way or another.

Today im pulling the chain cover again and the fron head. Ill also pull the rear head and see whats up back there... Or what fell down..

The damage is too severe to fix this motor.

Use your donor car engine.

Or get another complete engine that is the same year.

Sorry for this loss. You seem to have a lot of entheusiasm, so you will do OK.

The car always wins. Just a matter of time...
. . . this too shall end . . .
A sad reality even for owners of the most pristine of vehicles, it reminds me that ultimately we can't take it with us. For me, it points to the Gospel when I consider that my passion for the car can often approach idolatry . . .

Interesting point. It certainly could get to that point. However if you look at my car, you will see that is not the case ;)

I wonder did you get it repaired? Interesting spark plugs, did you have a tune going on that would take car of the extra spark before the whole catastrophe? BTW I like your air intake idea. I wonder if you have problems with it during rain / snow?

Yes... Idolatry is something every affictionato fights... Of course the reality of the car is, even if you scrap this one, there will still be the next to deal with... It's a constant balance.
