Love my MDesign carbon look! However, there's a member on here who actually had 3 different CAIs that he installed AT the track and ran the 1/4 mile with each one and they all performed exactly the same. I think the MDesign one ran a faster 1/4 time by 1-thousandth of a second. So the conclusion is buy whatever one looks the best to you or the cheaper one.

Interesting...the CAIs really provide no performance benefit to speak of... maybe they sound a little better? Is the stock design that good...or is it just something more technical, like forcing more air doesn't do much for the Ecoboost?

The stock intake is just that good. If you really want to add performance with a CAI, you have to upgrade the downpipes and the catback, and the tune to make use of the additional flow. The system has to be backpressure-balanced, even more important with turbo setups.

How about the Airaid? I got one for my Sho from 4 wheel online. This intake has good quality and easy to install. There's also an improvement in the sound.

When properly sealed against the hood, the Airaid can help cut 0.1 (maybe even 0.2) second in the 1/4. But it's potential is unfulfilled without downpipes & catback.
