I'd like to thank the forum for answering most of my questions/concerns. Unfortunately I did not buy a SHO. I ended up buying a 2010 BMW 135i. I just couldn't bring myself to buy a family (sports) sedan with very little E-85 support. Only time will tell if this was a good decision or not.

I got warranty, and most likely I could do most things myself. Upgrades I'll do. Everything else I'll use the warranty and get my monies worth from it.

With winters tires, he'll be fine. I drove a 335d for five winters and it was great in the snow.
