So yesterday I finally got around to checking my intercooler for oil. 2013 non PP with 52,000 miles, figured it wouldn't be all that bad but I have always had that surge or misfire feel with low rpm, heavy throttle accelerations.
I didn't take a picture of the dipstick, but the oil was up to the first bump on there! This was before the car was jacked up on the drivers side.
With no idea how to get it out I tried a small pathetic squeeze pump from the parts store with no luck.

I consider myself pretty confident in the "Afro Engineering" department, and made this up...

The large tube from the left is my shop vac... I wasn't sure I wanted to post this picture because it is wildly ghetto! But hey, it worked Very well!!!

5 HP was plenty to get that THICK sludge and oil out.

Car drives 10X better now.
I know many have stressed this before but check this often!!!

No idea. But pick your favorite and adapt it to your application. :)

Would the dealer do this kind of stuff? I'm at 30k and I'm pretty sure mine surges or misfires at low rpms. I can feel it around 60-65 mph and the rpms are under 2 and u can see the rpm needle bounce a little. Thank you

Generally, they won't (not a service item in the book), but you can ask around, there ARE "performance-friendly" dealers out there. Where are you located, Eric, maybe someone knows a dealer in your area.

I figured it wasn't. You would think it would be especially if they have the problems in a lot of the engines. It's like pulling teeth with the dealerships. I'm located in Lehighton Pa. Thanks shodded

It's very noticeable that's for sure almost feels like a tire wobbling. There most likely is oil in mine then. Did yours stop shuttering then after you cleaned it out?

Completely!!!
My wife drives a 2013 Ecoboost Flex and accelerates as it should... Now my SHO feels the same, well worth the hour it took me!!!!!!!!

It only took me 5 minutes to check it so that might be worth a shot just to see.

Do the flex's have the same issue? I honestly thought it was nothing until I started reading into it. Now that you said yours was around the same mph it just gotta be that. I will check it out one of these days. I will try rigging something close to what you used hah. Could you help me out on what you put on the end of the shopvac? Thank you

As far as I know anything with that motor can have this issue...
I had a 1-1/2" rubber plumbing coupler and a threaded PVC cap that I screwed into the rubber.( very tightly) than I dropped a hole in the cap small enough to get a snug fit with my vacuum hose.

Go figure they would. I'm gonna buy one of those top sider pumps one of these days. I just pulled the hoses off and there's oil in there which I figured. I didn't jack the drivers side up though. But it's there. I will have to message him one day shodded. The dealers around me suck.
