The reason I am also asking this question is after I tuned my 2015 SHO w/Diablo intune 91 octane tune, my SHO started to bog (lose spark) when I mash the gas. I was racing a Chevy SS the other night and mashed the gas and lost power then it kicked back in after a second or so then it drives fine. I know from past experience that my spark plugs was the problem. Is this the same problem or is there something else that is going on? Help please.

Update: When I am driving the car like an old man the car drives and shifts fine, no hesitation or trans problems. When I am mashing the gas the trans shifts hard into each gear and loses power around 30mph when mashing the gas. I hope this can help diagnose the problem.

Sooo... I have researched all over the web and I can not get a clear answer for 1 Stage colder spark plugs. This is what I have found so far:

According to my research the SP528 and SP534 are re-branded NGK LTR6CI-8 and LTR6CI-9.

All plugs need to be gapped at .029-.030 w/tune
2010 SHO's were outfitted with SP512 plugs=NGK -----Heat range is 5
2011-2012 with SP528=NGK LTR6CI-8 ---------Heat range is 6
2013 with SP534=NGK LTR6CI-9---------Heat range is 6

Now if the 2011-2015 are already 1 stage colder stock what is the point to go another stage colder unless you have meth? What I have been reading on this forum and another is the best plug to go with is NGK-LTR7IX-11 plugs w/heat range 7. Is this plug the best plug to go with with a tune?

Are you turning TC off before playing around? It's my understanding that tire spin will cause the ECU to pull power and you'll experience a bog like that. Otherwise, my only suggestion would be to get some datalogs (maybe video too), so we can pore over them and see what's going on.

I dont have the performance package so I cant turn TC off. When I lunch it bogs and when the gas is mashed it shifts hard as **** in 1st, 2ed and sometimes 3rd. I will post some data logs tomorrow and maybe a video.

Can anyone else chime in if you have had these problems?

Sure you can. Go into the menu, under driver assist. Uncheck "Traction Control". You cannot disable Stability Management or AdvanceTrac Control, like the performance package cars, but you can still disable TC for straight line acceleration.

If you aren't disabling TC and it bogs when you launch it, I can almost guarantee that's your problem, especially with a tune on the car.

Does this behavior occur even when the SHO is stock? Is the tune one of the preloaded ones that comes with the tuner? It does sound like the SHO is trying to "protect" itself as Rob indicates. There's a lot of finessing that goes into trans/engine coordination, especially when tuned, and canned tunes are not known for their buttery smoothness. If you can adjust shift pressures, you can try lowering to 185-190 psi. Sounds like you have the spark plugs all figured out, so I don't believe that to be it. You can also check all hoses & clamps, as they are known for coming loose, blowing off, or cracking. Might even feel like you suddenly lost boost.

Diablo. Sorry to hear you have been ensnared ...

Heh. I had a 'canned' Diablo tune on my '98 Cobra, and while it made the 2nd gear go from a scratch to a 10ft scream, it actually went SLOWER in the quarter mile compared to the stock tune.

So you were right. I turned off TCS and I did not get any lose in power. I will see what happens over the next week to see if there is any change. Thank you so much!

The problem was the TC, but we will see what happens over the week. I will look into getting a better tune after I install my 3" the and meth.
