Just as the title states looking for a set of a new main and thrust bearings. Would take one or the other, doesn't have to necessarily be a set.

TIA

standard size main bearings have been obsolete for years. undersize are still available.

I know but there was a set on eBay last week and another guy I know was going to sell me a set but it fell through. So they're out there. Hence the reason for this thread. I would have just bought them at a local parts store.

But good point, I'm looking for standard bearings not oversize. Aren't oversize virtually useless on the sho unless you reharden the crank after it's cut? I've heard of some horror stories with oversize.

Yeah I know that's why I said was. That's absurd what they wanted for them. Anyway, I'm well aware of what they are. I used my last set in my engine here so just looking for another spare set.

Agree, I would think you could buy an entire low mile engine for that price

Engine? Man you can buy whole shos for that much that run and drive. Haha. I don't even think they actually sold, I think they were deleted off eBay.

The end listing showed it was sold, so I was wondering if it was anyone on here

Oh does it? Oh well, whoever bought those is nuts haha. I wouldn't spend half of that. I know plenty of guys who have them, they just don't really want to sell them. There are tons out there still that can be had for 1-200 bucks without the thrust bearings. Just have to be patient and look. Mine only have 2k miles on them at the moment so I doubt I'll need another set anytime soon if ever, but I just want a spare set just in case.

Well, I have some Ford main sets in the standard size. I'm not sure if they're up for sale, but a set might be for the right price..

Those are rod bearings not main bearings.
So... there is some times ago I posted a great solution, but no one realised it. So we did it in Russia and it works perfect.
Look here. It's in russian but all you need it's a part number and engine model. You can use google translate to read, it will be very close to real sense.
https://www.drive2.ru/l/4889243/ - first car on toyota bearings
https://www.drive2.ru/l/8443815/- second car
you'll need to buy quantity for 2 engines (only 2 of 4 bearings from the box will fit you because they are not the same for 1 and 4 cylindre and for 2 and 3) Clevite MS 2011P
