1993MTXSHO
Its a Taurus...
Hey guys, been a while but I'm finally trying to get my POS 93 back on the road as haggered as it may be. That being said I'm installing a Jose SHOrt shifter (bought from Tim), boss brace, clevis pin and the other bushing in my rod shifter. I've got a few problems/questions I was hoping you guys who have done this already could answer for me. Oh and before anyone says contact Jose, I already tried and I can't get a hold of him.
1) The Clevis pin I got from Jose a few months ago (apparently his last one) seems to be too short. It does not span the entire way across my shifter. Is this normal? It also does not fit through my shifter, diameter seems to be too big. I could really hammer it in there but if I do it will probably never come back out or destroy the Clevis pin in the process because it's just too tight.
You can see the gap here:

2) When I tighten down the bushing on the shifter, it locks the shifter from movement. I can back it off to make it a bit more loose (still kind of tight even with the bolt completely out) but I'm worried the bolt will fall off even with locktite. Has anyone else experienced this?
Pic of the bushing I'm talking about here (not the pin in my hand):

3) When putting the shift ball of my SHOrt shifter in the shift box, there's quite a bit of play. My stock ball fits very snug with no movement at all. Is this a byproduct of the Jose SHOrt shifter or is something wrong? I figure this isn't right because the idea of the Jose is to tighten everything up, not cause slop.
