so I have a 2010 sho with exhaust and roush intake. Been running the sct 4+ for a while with no issues at all. I would run a quarter at 13.3 I recently upgraded to the aiw and got the 3 bar as well as the thermostat. I run the 4x 3 bar tune. I got a transmission fluid change because I just hit 100 thousand and I drive the car everyday. I have had no problems but it seems to good to be true. I ran a 12.6 a couple nights ago. The difference is night and day. I have not had any problems or issues but it seems like it must be dangerous. Stock the car ran a 14.0. I dropped down to a 12.6 with pretty much just a tune. Do you think my mileage is too high for such an aggressive tune. I love this new tune. Car is a beast

Nothing to worry about, in my books, everything to celebrate! Very nice time for your setup. Maintenance helps a LOT, unlocks the hidden potential. Were you running 108ish with the 12.6?

ya thanks. It just feels weird. I have had 12 second cars before we'll actually only one but it was much lighter. It was a wrx. It just feels unnatural in this car,but like I said everything is working perfect. I ran a 12.6 at 109

that's very odd. Somthing must be wrong. I let off gas once due to spin and I ran a 12.9

10* makes that much of a difference? I'd already done the swap to 170...

I'm no longer interested in drag racing, anyway. I had to buy a $400 helmet to make six passes and then sold it for $150. Not going through that again just to see what my time is like on higher octane fuel.

The 160F TStat is a requirement to run LME's "hottest" tunes, whether it's the 4-series for the 2010-12 or the V8-series for 2013. That allows you to really improve the timeslips. IIRC, LME had stated at one point that the EB engine was developed to run most optimally at temps in the mid 140's.

Simply changing to a lower TStat will at least get the coolant flowing through the radiator that much sooner, whether you update the tune or not.

This makes me want the LME even sooner! I will say in stock form, the 0 - 30/40mph acceleration is just off. Not sure if it is the trans shift points or what. Once you are rolling and you hit the gas, it feel better. But that first 30mph just seems like it doesn't know what to do. I can't wait to order the package.

Every day you wait to tune you will want to kick yourself one extra time after your first tuned drive!

Just wait until you chirp the tires going into 3RD GEAR! What I did to mine, and my girl's dads car was
Tuner
Tstat
3 BAR MAP sensor
Pre-gapped Plugs

That is BY FAR the best $800 you could ever spend to gain ~80WHP and ~90WTQ!

Running the car in the 140's would prob create more emissions wouldn't it? There must be a reason ford does not do it. How cool will the car run without a t stat?

It would be an IDEAL situation to have the temps in the 140's, not necessarily practical given varying traffic & environmental conditions. The cost to implement the hardware, from Ford's standpoint, is also probably impractical. Then there is the need to warm up the transmission/fluid, which would take even longer the lower the engine operating temperature. But emissions, as you mentioned, is likely the biggest criteria behind the OEM TStat spec.

IMHO.

That's kinda what I was thinking, gas mileage would prob suffer also. Don't wanna be in the same boat as vw with their emissions tunes.. Lol
