Hello everyone well i just ordered the windstorm livernois tune w/3 bar map. I did not go for the downpipes New york is very strict on their emission law so that's one hassle i do not want to deal with. That being said can i get some feedback on the install and benefits, i should get with this package. My concern is the 3 bar map what benefits do i get installing that because i'm not going to meth up the motor in the future so is it worth installing or just stay with the factory 2/bar.
Buy the way my car is a 2015 pp sho.... Any other suggestion will be greatly appreciated. I'm pretty mechanically inclined so i don't think the install should be a problem but you never know. Is the computer tuning a pain in the ass, or is it once you get the hang of it no problem? One last thing for now how do i keep the original tune file for my car can it be downloaded to my computer for safe keeping? Thanks all.........

You are in luck! Since you have a 2015, you don't have to worry about any of those numbers, those are for the 2010-12 MYs only (higher number mean more aggressive tunes)! The 2013+ have what is known as the V8 tune, latest version will be sent by Livernois. So let any tension go :D

3 bar is a great return on money! It allows the tuner more discretion in refining the tune to improve performance AND reliability. There are no IFs with the 3 bar, just DO ITs :D

Definitely go 3bar

Rich
I thought i should go with the 3Bar Map but i was talking to someone at livernois while placing my order for the windstorm pkg. Ask about the 3bar advantages he told me unless i was going to Meth up my motor etc. there was no reason to install a 3bar stay with the factory 2bar-i ordered the 3bar anyway,
So that's why i ask it really confused me. I'm really green to all this tuning guess i just need trial and error "i'll learn ya" Thank you for the feedback

I think the shifting in the 3bar tunes felt better...but I'm a different set of tunes (10-12).

Basically, you are SUPPOSED to be able to run 14.7 psi of boost with a 2-bar sensor, and 29.4 with a 3 bar sensor. BUT, with every device, there is a point where the accuracy drops off, and it can be a 4-5 psi tolerance. So you might lose accuracy after reaching, say, 10 psi of boost. That's no good, that'ss barely above stock boost pressures. LME, for example, uses 13-14 psi of boost (usually max/peak). So precise tuning would simply not be possible with a 2 bar sensor.

If, for some reason, there is an OVERBOOST condition (such as a stuck wastegate), you would still need to be able to measure it correctly to give the PCM time to react appropriately and take a step back so the engine is not damaged. So you have to add a margin of safety (a few psi) to the sensor measurement requirement.

All in all, when playing it really safe, if the sensor can ACCURATELY measure up to 10 psi beyond what the tune (stock or otherwise) requires, you are good to go. So with a 3 bar MAP, and a 10 psi margin of safety total for the 2 reasons mentioned above, you are able to reach 19.4 psi safely if you wanted to go that high on stock turbos.

You could always get bigger turbos to make the same power at lower boost pressures :D

Hope that makes sense!

EDIT: BTW, I have no idea what the accuracy of Ford's MAP sensors is, can't find any publicly available data on that.

Your tuner will hold 5 tunes on it. Typically they will send you a 93 octane tune, a 91 octane tune and your stock tune will be on it as well. Switching between them is super easy and takes a couple minutes. I'm an idiot and I have had zero problems loading/switching tunes on my car. You will not be sorry.
