I just installed the 3 Bar, thermostat, pregapped spark plugs, m design CAI and 91 octane performance tune from Livernois. HOLY SHIT, the car acts like a different car. Well worth the money. I can't wait to do the down pipes and cat back in a few weeks.

Thanks to the guys at Livernois and Ahmad from M design. You guys kick ass.

What year SHO do you have? .......and, what performance increase (hp/tq) do they estimate that particular improvement has provided?

Thanks, Bret.

Thanks SHONuff,

So I noticed the package doesn't come with a 3 bar. Does Livernois increase the boost in this tune? If so to what level?

Would this be a 91 or 93 tune?

Bret.

We try to make it as mistake proof as we possibly can.

We raise boost slightly just like Bam said. We keep boost within about 2% of the stock levels. The 3BAR is more for boost control than it is for power creation. It allows us to better control boost and keep power nice and linear. Most guys say that because the 3BAR tune is more constant, controlled and deliberate in how the power is delivered it almost feels like the car came from Ford like that!

I'm in the exact same boat - next steps is downpipe and cat-back! I love my tune!

I noticed my exhaust sounds deeper since the tune. Am I hearing things or am I correct? The car sounds a lot meaner now than before.....

I agree, it definitely sounds a bit more beastlike with the tune. I actually look forward to work because I get to drive the car. Need to find a job where all I do is drive my car around all day. It's also fun to take people for a ride and see the reaction on their face when you unleash the beast. Still regretting waiting five months to get the tune, should have done it immediately.

I couldn't agree with you more. I waited 6 months for mine. I'm not going to wait that long for the down pipes and the cat back exhaust. Livernois will be getting my call soon!

my service manager tells me that if you remove the tune, they do not know of a way to tell if it has been there previously or not. (this is at a Lincoln store, I don't know if the Ford techs know something the Lincoln techs don't, but usually its the Lincoln techs that know more than the Ford techs...)

I don't think the operation is removing a tune. I believe it is overwriting/uploading it with a stock one.

When a tune is uploaded is it date/time stamped in the ECU? Is there a footprint left behind after a tune, even a stock one?
Yes, it will show how many starts (cycles) it has done since last flash (reset)...looks just like a battery disconnect to the guys at dealer...but if they scan it and see a flash 2 cycles prior to service they will suspect tune...always a good idea to say your battery died the day before in this situation and have them check it.
