Noticed a new noise, wheel/bearing maybe?

I just notice a wuh . . . wuh . . . wuh sound when moving and it gets faster (wuh . wuh . wuh) the faster I go. It makes the sound whether I'm accelerating or not and in neutral so it seems to be coming from the wheel area (right front?). I can also feel a minor vibration with my feet through the floor and also a little bit in the steering wheel.

I checked all my lug nuts so the wheels are on tight, does this sound like a bearing issue? What else could it be?

It's a 2010 with just under 20,000mi and I'm pretty sure it's not the brakes as I've had brakes that rubbed before and this doesn't seem the same.

sounds like a bearing to me... been anywhere where there is gravel or small rocks? could be a stone lodged in the caliper are as well... seen this a few times.

Bearing noise?

So did you ever figure out your noise? My cat has been making the same noise now for a while, thought it was tires , but i just put a new set on.

I can also be a separated belt in your tire. You will notice a bulging area on the tread part of the tire in one spot if that is the case.

wheel bearing

Well i was right, my car needed the drivers side wheel bearing. Funny thing is this is the side the dealer had apart a couple of times trying to fix my cv joint leak when the car was new. Mechanic thinks maybe they over tighten the wheel bearing when they put it back together.Had trouble finding the wheel bearing in stock and it was exspensive!!

My car had the same problemt, both bearnigs are being replaced at 29,000 miles.

My front wheel bearings need replaced as well. Does anyone know what the part number is for them? Is it a sealed hub assembly or can you replace just the bearings?

The dealer recently replaced my right front wheel bearing and did a tire balance for $400+ parts/labor. In the past 25 years I haven't had a wheel bearing go bad so quickly (65,000 miles), so this is a big disappointment. Add this to the long list of expensive repair bills for the SHO. Normally I keep vehicles for 150,000-200,000 miles, but will probably wind up in the poor house keeping the SHO that long.

one of the advantages to the 96+ subframe conversion is that you put 96+ spindles on the car, which have bolt-in-place bearings. So, no more 3-digit bills for a wheel bearing replacement, plus you don't have to worry that the guy damaged the new bearing by pressing in the wrong spot at installation...

2010+ spindles shouldn't have wheel bearing problems. We are in the Gen 4 section aren't we?

Wheel bearing problems are actually MORE common in Fords built in the last 10 years or so. No known reason why, just conjectures.

If I ever have one with a problem I can give you the reason.

It's my job.

Last ones went 114,000 no problem on the 2010.

New ones are only at 3500 on the 2013
