So, someone broke into my car last night... obviously tried to steal it. They didn't take anything though.

How in the world do I fix this?

Take a look at RockAuto, under your car heading, look for Ignition: Ignition Lock Cylinder. They come "with or without" a transponder key, and run from $25.00 to $70.00. It is hard to tell if the switch itself is damaged, but they usually are not. I would look around the scene of the crime, as that assembly is not of much use to anyone else.

Am I wrong in thinking you can start the car with a screwdriver now?
no, it thinks someone is stealing the car since there is no key, so it won't let it start.

that's what I did. Now I just need to figure out how to program the key.

Who tries to steal a ford taurus?
