Just got car back together. Clutch broke in .... now if I take off to spin the tires it seems fine. When I take off like I was at the track, the whole front end shakes terribly! ! Until I let off the gas. Struts are new and feel fine when I hit a pothole. And cv axles are new too. But I do have a small shake at 60 or so. Which I think is balance issue. I did put new strut rod bushings and wondered if I put them in right and maybe they were causing it? ??? Anyone please help. If any of this helps it has new ball joints, inner and outer tierods. Re enforced motor mounts, whole strut is new top to bottom., oh Ya and have aluminium subframe bushings ..... going to get tires balanced tomorrow if that doesn't help ill be lost

I have the same issue. New lower control arms replaced just because of torn ball joint boots. I will put the old ones back on that I saved and see if it goes away? Anyone else experienced loose ball joints new?

strut rod bushings not installed properly could cause your symptoms too.

problem solved

Ok so I got a chance to look at car today. I put a wrench on tension strut or strut rod and could move it fairly easy. I replaced all bushings when I put motor back in. The ones in subframe and ones through the ball joint were all torqued correct. I got the poly bushings from carquest ..... so I took it apart and the washers will only let it tighten so much, so I grabbed the grinder and made hole In washer bigger so I could tighten it more. Now it is tight. So I'm guessing the bushings are smaller than stock ??? I know they came from carquest and they are blue.... part number was 8116k I think ... would never buy those again. Took car out and wheel hop is almost gone! !! Its back to the way it used to be :sun: I learned a good lesson ... check all bushings after install and torquing ...... thanks for everyones help

can you put it securely on jack stands and take a video of the car going 100 mph? I had the issue of braking would pull the steering wheel to the left but I didn't have a camera.

That could be a few things. It could be bushings, either tension rod or sub frame, or it could a dead caliper.

If the steering pull happens under all braking, bushings. If it happens only under, or is more pronounced during hard braking only, dead caliper.

well, running the wheels at 100mph on jack stands is an incredibly stupid idea for any reason.

pulling to the left under braking can also be causes by a bad ball joint or tie rod end or strut rod bushing - anything that causes the toe-in to change.

I found the issue. The strut rod & nut threads that hold on the lower control arm were buggered. The lower control arm bushing at the strut rod was not compressed. I had a he!! of a time getting the nut off. I had to go to the junk yard to get a strut rod with clean threads. Now nut is tight and lower control arm bushing is compressed and problem solved.

I hope you are just saying these things to get our goat and not really that stupid.
But, I could tell which side it was coming from. If you can't tell which side the vibration/wobble is at, it is coming from both sides.

I can honestly not fathom as to why the wheel would pull to the right with the front end in the air.

I would hope it was clear that these observations were to be made while the vehicle was being driven on the road...

Oh, and fathom. The word you were looking for is fathom. :)
