Nice work. Are you going to be able to run e85 all the time? For what ever reason my truck says I must run a tank of gas though it every 5 tanks if I were to be using E85 in it. Its a F150. I haven't looked in to e85 that much to see why there asking for this.

Heh... Looked at the logs and I wasn't hitting full boost. Checked the belt and I didn't get it tight enough. It's tight now and I'm going to see how much higher IDC's go. Even at 'low boost', I think it was already faster.

So I regained traction in 2nd gear this year with the bigger, wider, and stickier tires.... Today, with a rich tune and a little additional timing, I went back to breaking it loose in 2nd again.

Yes, I will be running E85 all the time. I *may* store it for the winter on gas, but I haven't decided yet.

They may want you to run gas through it every so often to **** parts up. Ideally, that's what the other 15% of E85 is for. One of my buddies here has been runing E85 in his 2006 STi for about 5 years and even stores it that way in the winter. E85 has allowed him to run consistant 11.8's on a stock turbo and motor. To convert to E85, literally all he had to do is swap to a 255lph pump (not even rated for E85), swap injectors, and a tune.

and they said nobody could do anything new with the old SHOs... Nice work Jason!

Nothing really special. Given the area I live in, pretty much ever boosted performance car is going E85. In the last month, I've converted 3 - 2.5L WRX's (with STi turbos) to E85 and the results are stellar. On my buddy Mike's car, I was able to go fro 18 PSI up to 24 PSI AND add timing. On the gas setup, his car did 300whp/320wtq @ 17.5 PSI on the dyno.

With E85 and the added boost, it started feeling pretty decent... I then added about 3 degrees of timing and the very next 3rd gear pull resulted in a slipping clutch.

Ross' wagon on a mild tune (21 PSI, very little additional timing added) has surprised quite a few people and he's got a set of equal length headers coming now too!

3 people in the car for the below videos.

This car is pretty damn amazing. As far as modded/boasted SHO's go this has got the be the cleanest build out there. I love it.

Thank you. It's an old SHO, I just try and take care of it an have fun with it as well. I've got a few more things in store over the next year, but it's just fun cruising around here as it is quite 'rare'.

Per our texts... Yes Tim, E85 is that good. When will you join the E85 Army???

Calculate for me if you would please, how much E85 power I can get from my 80lb'ers. I hate to drop even more money on the ID's after I just purchased and installed these.

You should be able to get a good amount out of them given you don't have to supply more fuel for a supercharger. What is your current IDC? E85 will require you to scale the injector about 30% lower, in addition it is higher ocatane, cools the air as it is injected to the cylinder, and you'll be hard pressed to get it to knock on WOT. You could always bump the pressure provided you have enough fuel behind them.

I just got my replacement 320 lph pump in the mail today and will likely install this weekend, however, at 43.5 PSI base pressure, my 255 lph pump is keeping up just fine.

As far as a calculator, this may help you:

On my second tank of E85! I wanted to run it down to the light, but I was at a Subaru meet and gave my buddy (with the wagon above) a ride and ended up near one of our regular E85 stations and filled up at a 1/4 tank. It just keeps running better and smoother.

While I was giving my buddy a ride, we came up on two Mustangs... A Rousch 427R and a brand new 5.0 with dealer tags. The Rousch wouldn't play when I downshifted, but he got a big smile, waved and gave me a thumbs up. The 5.0 decided to play, but he took off on me and I reeled him in hard and as I was passing him, he decided to slam on the brakes and chirp the tires. I don't think he was very happy.

And other than changing tunes, I can swap from E85 to regular whenever I desire?
If you drain the tank, yes. Otherwise, you'll have to baby a tank of fuel each time. So, yes again. Me thinks you won't want to go back to gas.

Your 320lph, that is an in-tank pump?
Yes. I will also hardwire it to the battery with a relay like I have done on my STi.

438/336, but the loss I see from the blower won't apply for your application.

I haven't installed it and with the weather changing and other projects at hand, I'm not sure I'll do it before selling it.
