English Is An Amazing Language

English is an especially useful language when we wish to communicate with others. It can be used to share questions and obtain answers to almost anything. However, if it is used incorrectly it leads to confusion, poor understanding and worst of all no help with a problem or issue.

Most Americans go to school but few students understand how important an education really is.

Abbreviating every word in a sentence simply means you don't know how to spell or are two lazy to write the sentence in English. It really sends a message to the reader that you really don't care for an answer and thus you eliminate 90% of your potential responders who otherwise would love to help you.

I'd heard that most schools in Texas have been closed.

That's funny, but most educated people recognize "il" as the abbreviation for Illinois, not Texas.

:ohreally: I was born and raised in TX; furthermore, I attended TX public schools for my educational requirements from kindergarten through 12th grade. I do not consider myself a master of the English language; however, I do try to use it correctly most of the time. (I also have no friends willing to speak with me because I am constantly correcting them.):woo-hoo:
