I like the video. Looks like a good run.

I did kinda laugh at the way the Mustang ran off and left you though.:dig:

Holy wheelspin, that netted you a 2.1 60ft? When i launch i get no spin at all slipping the clutch from 3800 on street tires. 2.2 60ft all day. Try launching that way next time. Other than that great freaking run. COngrats on making the top ten list.

Zach, Launching on a incredibly sticky tire is VERY tricky. You either leave the line hard, or you will bog. Yes, Launching like that will make a lots of wheel spin, but those tires are still gripping enough to put the power down.

Reminds me of trying to launch a AWD. You either had to leave pretty hard and get some wheel spin, or bog. Its how I killed a TOB in my WRX =)

I just made it home. I had a good trip up till the last 3 miles. I hit a ******** racoon and cracked up my bumper cover bad, also almost smashed the HID fog light it was just hanging by the wire.

Anyway I had fun today, I had traction issues all day. I couldn't get a proper burn out to get the tires warm. Anyway I was running 14.1s with 2.3 60 foot times between 100-102MPH.

He was running the 16" nittos 225 50s

Mine were 15" Mickey 235 60. The bigger sidewall was key in limiting wheel hop.

Turns out the run in the video was my 14.415. Here's the slip.

What was done to that stang to get into the 12.4's? :naughty: My traps were on par or beating that, but his 60' was way better than mine.

Nice job with your time though!

You'll have to talk to Ron about that. He was Soc-Hoppin' all day.

You might not like this but...it might be an Automatic with a tune.

Christmas Tree Drama:

I found the video and I'm uploading it now. I decided to post the "Director's Cut" because I felt something funny as the revs were climbing before the launch (don't know if you can hear it but it seems like the RPMs were sorta fluttering) so I shut it down and took a breath.

Oh...and Marcel was knocking on 13s door @ 101. His car sounds AWESOME. I'll let him tell the tales but there was a slight delay as he had to reattatch something...I would have never guessed would need to be reattatched. Ever.

We all drove our cars outa there, though. Always a bonus when you drive them there.
I am interested to hear what it sounded like hitting 8k myself. I am sure someone has vids.
And the part that fell off was the cam sensor housing along with sensor. I managed to find a few extra bolts under the hood and get it all fixed up in a few minutes.

It'll probably be an hour before I'll have it. It's in the middle of a 17 minute HD video and MS movie maker takes forever.

Here's a fun one. Not one of my best runs, but hollywood might like the sound clip if they ever need to dub in the sound of a puppy being beaten. Just listen to the car next to me trying to get a burn out.

I found video of the 14.433 with a 2.17 60'. I'll post it below but I think that'll be all the video I've got worth posting.

Looks like ill have to get moving on getting some new struts and strut rod bushings on my '90 so I can come out and break stuff.

What model was that GP?

14.433@95 with a 2.17 60' and a methodical 2-3 shift because I missed it on the previous run completely.

Here are the pictures & videos from Lapeer Dragway, Saturday 4-28-2012.

http://s1015.photobucket.com/albums...r Dragway 4-21-2012/Lapeer Dragway 4-28-2012/

Tom Connolly with his stock ’90 SHO on DRs, Marcel Timmons with his modified ’95 SHO on DRs, Ryan Dudek drove out my SVT Focus, and I brought my wife’s ’06 Grand Prix 3.8. Some other interesting rides there also. A GT 5.0 automatic with DRs and a tune, and his buddy with a GT 500 on street tires (Nitto Invos, that got him into the high 11s). What I thought was a GXP, but it was a modified G8 automatic running into the 12.70s. C6 Corvette with a Lingenfelter windshield banner. Supercharger, big DRs, high 10s. Although my wife’s GP feels strong on the street, it’s a usual GM torque motor with no guts over 4500. At full weight (full tank, stuff in the car, etc), it got a 16.01 @ 85. I had the traction control/ABS disabled on the SVT. Got a best of 15.55 @ 89.8x with a slipping clutch. Best run last week with Traction Control was a 15.89 @ 88.9.

My toy fund has got some recovering to do from that totally unplanned drag radials purchase before I totally spend my clutch; so you've got some time before we have "Dueling 90's".
