When I got new tires for the '89 I went with Falken Ziex ZE-512, 215/60-15

Things I noticed right away:
Lower profile looks a little better.
The car feels like it has a tiny bit more performance.
Brakes seem to work better.
Engine spins about 200 RPM faster at 80mph.
Speedometer reading is accurate (was about 2-3mph off before new tires).

After about 4 tanks of fuel:
Highway fuel economy has gone down to 24mpg from 25mpg.

If the speedo was off by 2-3mph before (assuming high) then your 25mpg was actually inflated, as the trip odometer is driven from the speedo. So, likely your fuel economy hasn't really changed but is now more accurately telling you what it has been all along.

So it sounds like all positives and a neutral for the MPG. In that case, I would say it's a good purchase. :)

Thanks. You're right. Makes complete sense>
