2010 SHO with black wheels

Not really looking for praise or critique, I just know that when I was looking online for pics of SHOs with black wheels, I had a real hard time finding any, so here's some pics of mine with wheels for folks who want to see what one looks like with black wheels. Cars got a long way to go (lowering springs, blacked out chrome doo-dads, etc..), but I am just getting started.

I'd paint the rivets black, personally. Other than that, I don't think they look bad. Need bigger brakes behind them though

Yeah they weren't exactly what I wanted, but I couldn't beat the price the shop gave me, so I went ahead with it. I am with you, at some point, I will do away with the shiny stripe around the wheel and the shiny bolt heads.

I used black caliper brush on paint on all four calipers and it makes them look a lot better. Ford puts a coating on it, but it looks like a dirty chalk board after a couple of months. It took me two hours for all four wheels and really happy with how they turned out. I am deciding if I want to do them again in red, but thinking it might draw a little too much attention. However after owning a few srt vehicles, I miss the red brake calipers.

I hope you bought an extra wheel. The reason you got such a good deal on those Maas wheels is because they got discontinued and got blown out real cheap.

Trust me, I sell wheels. Take good care of them cause you can't get a replacement anymore.

If you care to know, the approximate weight of that wheel is about 31Lbs.

OP, those wheels looks good. I also think they'd look better if the rivets were blacked out, but either way, they're snazzy.

Thanks for the feedback guys. So I know nothing about wheels, and I sorta figured they were some older model that they wanted rid of. I am gonna try to keep them in good shape. So, is 31lbs a good thing or a bad thing?

Glad you like em. Got them from a local wheel shop here in the Atlanta area. Unfortunately, others have eluded to the idea that these are an older wheel and are discontinued from Maas Wheels. They were not quite as black as I wanted (silly shiny lip around the wheel and silly shiny bolt heads around the wheel), but they were DIRT cheap, so I went with them. I will have to work on blacking them the rest of the way out at some point. They are a flat black, which I dig a lot. Most black wheels are a glossy black, and I just don't think it looks good on the red car.

But it is those "old" Taurus's, SHO, or otherwise, that is literally the foundation and/or inspiration(s) for our current line of cars......

I'm just lightly jabbing. I'm not a fan of overweight crossover sedans myself. But a SHO is a SHO and I would drive em all! :wave:
