This is a new motor as was delivered to the Ford Atlanta (Hapeville) Assembly plant. It is complete with the wiring harness. all accessories (Alternator, AC Compressor & PS Pump), and serpentine belt - all of it OEM and spanky new. All ports are protected with factory shipping covers and caps. This motor was never installed in a vehicle. Includes flywheel which has surface rust/corrosion.

A beautiful find to correctly restore your gen 1, or mount a glass table on top of it for a breathtaking coffee table in your shop.

Here are a couple more pics. All the sensors and modules that are installed on the engine are included (DIS, TPS, CPS, and more).

And to the guy who wrote me about putting this in a sand rail.... please don't sentence this rare piece to the dunes!! - It's deserving of a nice resto project. Plus, you'd break the hearts of a few of us "old guys" in here. I have a nice 90K motor of the same vintage for your app!!





a little surface rust is showing on the flywheel, but is is minimal and a quick touch with a blanchard grinder will have it looking new like the rest of it.

Check out the oil filter with the embossed label on the end. Those disappeared a long time ago. I still have a supply of those in my attic for restoration purposes.

I just noticed that there are 2 lifting mount on this engine.

I think I knew there were 2 lifting eyes when the engines were delivered, and I think the rears were removed during assembly for some reason. Probably crash, as I think about it. They might not have liked the way the lifting eye sliced through the firewall in a front impact...or maybe it severs the front passenger brake line? Or...it could have been a production modification for weight savings that didn't adversely effect the 1 car per minute "job 1" standard.

Someone knows for sure, but I can imagine a lot of reasons.

I vaguely recall that the one '89 i bought new had the rear one still on. The car is in storage so i can't look at it quickly. The other '89 i have at home is a 70K original and does NOT have the rear lift bracket in place.

Hey Jason! I'll take a look at the motor this week. I have it stored at my shop and won't be in there until Tues/Wed.

If for nothing else, this motor is really handy when you're reassembling your driver after a major maintenance or repair job, and you're scratching your head for 10 minutes wondering "How the heck did they route that stinking wiring harness??!!"

Hey Freddy,
In the pic with the flywheel showing, the rear lift bracket is directly to the right, coming up from under the cylinder head, with the eye being adjacent to the corner of the intake manifold. (.. you're going to say "duh".. )

Thank you gentlemen, I had gotten turned around thinking that was the front of the motor since that''s where the lift bracket on the ones installed in cars. Would've helped if I had looked at that big as DAY throttle body and flywheel staring at me. smh haha.
