I just want to gauge some interest on a meet in north west Ohio on July 30. This could be like a local "SHO Convention" as I don't believe too many of us will be making it to the actual Convention this year.

May plan was to meet earlier in the day at my house in Toledo. From there I wanted to do a scenic/ fun drive around northwest Ohio and on the shore of Lake Erie. Have lunch on Catawba Island then come back to Toledo. We can then hang out at my place (I have a pool) shoot the shit and either barbeque or invade a local drive-in eatery around the corner from my house. We could also do some go-karting or mini-golf at a local Putt-Putt or whatever. There's even a fun bar within walking distance from my house for those who would like to make it a 2-day SHO meet. There's also a drive-in movie theatre about 10 miles away from my place as well.

These were just a few ideas I had if there was any interest or if anyone else had any kind of input. I would love to have a large turn-out as it seems the local turn-out isn't what it once was. It seems the boys from Indiana are the most ******** and have the best attendance as of recent memory (this includes myself). I have already requested the weekend off so if there is interest this is a for sure thing. I already have a driving route picked out I just need to drive it myself and scope out any possible construction issues or other sites that would be fun to stop at along the way.

Jim, sorry I'll have to be the first to say I can't make it. I'm camping that weekend with some people from church. I hope you have a nice turnout!

Normally I would be all about it, but that is the weekend I am leaving to visit family in San Antonio. Sound like a good time though.

Back in Michigan ... again.
I would very much like to make that--been too long since I was at a SHO meet. I have to move into a new house and have my old one clean at the end of July, don't yet know what that's going to entail but if past moves are any indication, it won't be fun.

I'll let you know as the date gets closer!

I'm down as well, but not promising to bring the SHO as I will be going to the convention the week before and there's a decent chance something will break at VIR :3gears:, but hopefully not (I am trailering it down just in case though).

Times and Directions

I would like to plan to meet at my place around 9:30-10:00 a.m. with the plan to leave for "the drive" by 11:00 a.m. This will put us at Catawba Island around 1:00 p.m. for lunch. Then we will just play by ear from there.

My address is 2835 111th St. Toledo, OH 43611.

Directions from the North: From I-75 Southbound take Exit #2 Summit St. This will loop around to the left. Continue following Summit St. Eastbound for about 1.5 miles. 111th St. will be on your left, and turn left on 111th St. (Ace Hardware will be on the right). My house will be fifth house down on the left hand side.

Directions from the South: From I-75 Northbound take exit 209 Ottawa River Rd. Continue following Ottawa River Rd. straight passing over Suder Ave. There will be a fork in the road about .25 mile up, follow to the right, this becomes 108th St. Continue going straight until 108 dead ends into Summit St. then turn left. 111th St. will be on the right and turn right (Ace Hardware will be on the left). My house is the fifth one in on the left hand side.

The bad news: I'm officially not going to be able to make this one.

The good news: That's because I'm moving into a new HOUSE that weekend with a two-car attached garage and 3-car detached shop with a furnace and a paint booth  No more wiggling around a dinky ass garage for me!

Not to hijack, but I'm already planning a housewarming party (my first ever housewarming party actually) for sometime in September. Would like to do it before it gets too cold so we can all still enjoy the lake I'm living on as well!

If I get the income I'm expecting by July 30th (which is like 85% likely), count me in. You're only an hour out from me, I have no reason not to be there. I don't have a SHO anymore, but am still an avid enthusiast....does this disqualify me?

Nice man! Sounds like a dream home and you haven't even mentioned the actual house yet LOL. Where at?

You Bill and I could do some damage to SHOs. He can tweak, I can paint, you can fix my paint. LOL.

... and I can get you guys VERY practiced at replacing MTX tranaxles.

That would not disqualify you... I can't tell you how many meets I've gone to without a SHO. It's all about the comraderie and enthusiasm for cars!

Does anyone by chance have a decent 2nd gen full leather rear seat they would like to sell and can bring to the meet?
