Just a quick question here. I searched and searched but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for...

I'm wondering what the stock ride height in the back of a Gen 2 is. I measured 14 inches on my SHO with stock springs from the fender to the hub. Is this a case of SAS? Also I am planning on installing Intrax and was wondering what the measurement between hub and fender is. I've heard stories of SHOs sitting higher after installing shorter springs...

Thanks guys. :thankyou:

Yours isn't sagging that bad from the pictures I've seen. Most of those people were probably talking about eibachs which don't lower much at all.

Thanks I'm still curious how low the back is going to end up dropped with the Intrax from how it is now. Today I'm rolling the fenders because with new rims/tires, things are rubbing.

At least, I don't think yours was that bad. Doesn't matter if the intrax will make it lower or higher, it'll make it right.

Haha that is a good way to look at it. After I roll the fenders it looks like I'm going to be just fine. I was worried at first because the offset on these Cobra R's is a little low but now that I've been rolling a little it looks like I'll be fine.

If anyone does have measurements I am still curious. :p

When I installed the Intrax springs I think the rear raised slightly. The drop on the Intrax or Eibach springs is from GOOD stock springs not sagging old springs.

According to the Helms manual, ride heights are measured from the bumpers. So it's officially called bumper height instead of ride height. Page 01-19-10 shows from the top of the rear bumper to the ground as 30" +/- 1.25 and the front is 24.5" +/- 1 from the bottom of the bumper main beam to the ground. Sounds a bit high to me, but its late/dark/raining outside and warm 'n cosy inside.

Thanks for that. I'll check that tomorrow, although I'm not sure how my tires/wheels compare with stock SHO tires/wheels as far as height goes.

I think you said you have 225/50/16s?

A 225/55/16 would be closer, and 215/60/16 would be stock.

The tires you have are about an inch and a quarter shorter than stock.

After taking a look at my 92, those measurements don't make any sense. They would put the car way too high.
Took another look at the Helms book. In the section on "underbody-adjustment" there is a diagram with numerous points measured to a "DATUM LINE" which appears to be the surface of an alignment rack.
Sorry, I don't have a flatbed scanner. It's page 01-01-4 in a 95 book.
