I was wondering how you can tell if your rodbearings are bad, and if there is instructions anywhere on the process. 95atx

Oil light flickering at idle rpm is a good way to tell. When mine went, I heard what sounded like a top end tapping on engine deceleration before the tapping turned into loud bottom end knocking about 50 miles later.

They are just letting you know that it's not an uncommon topic of discussion, search button and you will find.

Welcome. It's not so bad once you get to know everyone.

nope. I have a 3.2 sitting on a stand with new rb, mb, 3.0 cams, new 3.0 oil pump. I just have to get off my lazy butt and put it in. But i probably need to do vc gaskets, and valve stem seals

hows that? the engine is toast anyway.

How do you know? I have heard some nasty knocking yamahammers before. A fresh set of bearings fixed them. If you can hear the piston slapping the combustion chamber, It is junk. If it locks up, it is junk.

if you can see parts from the inside on the outside without using tools, you may have bad bearings...
