****** me off enough I couldn't make the meet cause of this BS. This is LUK clutch, 250 bucks, has less then 5000 miles on it, and I never drove it in a way this should have happened. I already have a Clutchmasters stage 1 ready to put in, just going to get my Fidanza flywheel machined a little to smooth it after this clutch f*ed the surface a little. The good thing is this was on the pressure plate side. The flywheel side the clutch was not ripped like this, so no major damage done to my flywheel

Odd. Was it installed facing the right way? Did you verify that the pressure plate was completely seated on the flywheel and not held up by the dowels? Did you contact the seller?

Yeah, only could face one way, dont go on the other way. Pressure plate def was seated right. I bought 2 years ago, didn't drive all that much in 2 years, car has been broke down more then operational, lol. Just a garbage clutch. Putting my clutchmasters stage 1 in today. Remember I just went through a 2nd transmission 2 weeks ago and got this 3rd one rebuilt and diff welded, so this should be it!

Dont remember, look at the clutch in the picture. If I tried putting it on backwards, that whole piece would hit the flywheel, not possible for it to go on that way.

when you pull the clutch do you drop the entire subframe or use a brace to support the engine and just pull the trans? If you just pull the trans, how long does it usually take? question for the OP or anyone else.

I think sho clutches CAN go in backwards, could be wrong

although my clutch disc isn't your standard style clutch like a LUK or replacement aftermarket

BTW, that wear isn't the disc's fault

A SHO clutch disc will go in backwards. It will make the PP stick out very slightly more then regular. If you havent done alot of clutches you might not notice, not to mention if you did it under the car in the dark etc.

You said it was a LUK clutch , if its not a stock LUK disc then what is it ?

Did you clean the PP surface before install and make sure nothing got on it while installing in the car. If anything got in-between the disc and pp during install and imbedded in the disk it could cause that. Maybe a factory defect but I havent seen many go like that from decent brands, LUK is alright stuff( if that is what it is ).

Did it drive fine no problems the first 5k , then just crap out one day ?

Either way , hope the CM1 last longer then that one, good luck.
