I did the front and top 60k on my car about 1000 miles ago, recently I noticed a strange noise that sounded like it was coming from one of the belts, but it wasn't the accessory belts. I pulled the timing cover off and the timing belt was way loose near the tensioner. I replaced the timing belt tensioner during the 60k so I doubt its bad.

1. Is the MTX timing belt tensioner suppose to have an allen head hole on it?

2. I *think* (it was a few months ago) when I installed the new timing belt tensioner I had to use an allen head to tighten the timing belt snug. But from my reading the tensioner is suppose to be self tightening. Is it possible for me to have installed the tensioner backwards?

I dont know what happend, but somehow or another my timing belt tensioner was completely loose. I don't know how it was even running like that. I don't think I rotated the engine 2 times the first time I put it on so I think that was the problem.
