Seems one of my power steering hoses is leaking and the shop that diagnosed said they'd have to fabricate one as it is discontinued... Does anyone have/know where to get one pretty easily? I could troll junkyards, but that's not how I spend my weekends (anymore).
Thanks!

The high pressure hose is still available, it should be $30-$35

The other, return lines are all just 3/8" bulk hose - just buy whatever length you need to replace whats bad.

The only other hoses that could be bad are the hoses from the reservoir to the pump itself, which can be made if needed.

Where is it leaking from on your car? Passenger side, drivers side, front of engine, back of engine, etc.

Those can be made - I'm not sure on the sizes of the lines.

I'm sure someone here has some they could sell you as well. I have some, but they are for an MTX, so I don't know it they will work....you could post a Want to Buy ad.

That's the big hose...about 1" diameter and 12" long. I was JUST at the parts store looking to pick one of these up...not available, not even through Rock Auto. It has some funky bends in it so good luck making a new one. I'm all ears to anyone else that has either remedied this hose or tracked down a new one....

Might have to resort to making something with a combo of hose and hard line fittings for the bends if you can't find a good used one.

Find a used one from a junkyard. That hose is not under any pressure and it is unusal to have a problem with it. My guess is your leak is in another hose.

Yes, it doesn't appear to be a pressure-related leak, more of a slow, occasional drip when the nose is parked uphill or from sloshing during driving. It barely even drips on the garage - only enough to burn on the exhaust and smell like crap.

Believe it or not, non-pressure power steering lines can also leak.... I mean it is out of the question for a rubber line that is subjected to high underhood temps for 15+ years to ever fail in some way, shape or form.

Sorry for being a smart ass, but seriously. Return lines and other non-pressure lines fail everyday on much newer cars. if you believe the leak is that line, then make something work out. I cant believe that NO parts store has anything for you! What size is that hose anyhow?

I have one of each size. 20.00 and either one is yours. I also have 3 or 4 of the high pressure hoses and several reservoirs.

I'm working up at Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West; on Cactus east of the CAP Canal.
