Air Inlet Resonator Tube & Box

I FINALLY decided to remove air inlet resonator, but I removed both the tube AND the box. After cleaning up it occurred to me that I should have just removed the tube from the box, as that seemed to make more sense, and left the box in. I did a search using search words: air inlet resonator tube, but strangely came up blank.

So what should I have done? And has anyone removed both the tube and the inlet box?

Ive removed the box when I pulled it.

I remember reading a "study" done on this a long, long time ago that showed something to the effect that removing just the resonator tube actually caused a decrease of around 2hp, but removing the box altogether increased it by 3, for a net gain of +1hp.

So yeah. One horsepower, woo!

Hey, I guess I didn't screw up .... for once!

I started thinking through a long analysis to see which choice would be better based on fluid mechanics - stagnation pressure in the box vs. no box, blah, blah, blah. But the proof is in the pudding as they say and so I'll leave the box out.

So basically $0 for a gain. You say woohoo sarcastically I guess I'm one of the few on this forum that factor in money to power modifications.
