As the title states, I think I have an exhaust leak. My car was a northern car so everything is already rusty. My question is which route should I go? I want to keep it as close to stock as possible for a decent price. Should I redo all of the piping and add new mufflers or what?

Just try and find the leak and get it fixed would be my advice. Easiest thing to fix/replace would be the exhaust donut gasket, which is where the y-pipe joins the rest of the exhaust.

I told you to take it to the hillbilly shop that has the ***** mags in the waiting room. He'll fix it cheap like he fixed my 90's exhaust issues. Put it on the rack and look at the whole system...if it's just a little corroded, fix the leak. If the entire system is rusted through, then weigh your options.

Personally, if it were me I'd just redo the entire system so you wont have to worry about anything for awhile. Good luck finding stock replacements. They are getting hard to come by.

The exhausts on the SHOs are made from great material. I would work with what is there. I doubt that the pipes are rotted if it has the original system.
My first SHO had a single exhaust system, so some people do get talked out of keeping the original system.

this is something I have to see.

chances are the donut gasket is leaking. it's a somewhat common problem and a cheap fix.

Yes, but if it's a dynomax, it's just aluminized steel. After putting one of those on your car in a rust belt state, you replace them every couple of years.....

Heh, the car sat most of the time. Plus I was just making a statement, as the shit is lifetime warranty...

Get the Dynamax cat back. JEGS and Summit both still show them in their catalog. Bought one back last spring and had a local muffler shop install it. Don't remember the cost of system but only paid $50 to have installed. worth every penny as far as I'm concerned.
