. . .well I decided against putting the 18" Blizzaks on since the wheels and TPMS sensors would have ran me close to $1K, so I opted for some all season 245/45/20 Yokohama Parada Spec X tires. They look awesome!

Should be putting some 18's with winter tires next week. I'll let ya know. Still on the F1 Supercars, they SUCK in the ice/snow!

SterlingGraySHO, I put the same tires on a set of G-FX OR9 wheels for winter and will keep my Permachrome stock wheels with the F1's for summer.

Im ordering 18" wheels and blizzaks tomorrow. Not sure if I will get steelies or a regular black rim. It depends on price difference. I wont be ordering another tpms kit.

Where can you get steelies from?

Usually discount tire but I dont know if they make them in the size I want. If not I will have to go with a regular aftermarket wheel.

I didn't see any on their site but can you link one because I would love a set of steelies. Also, why does discount tire show all the 18s they have and make you find the bolt pattern?

Went there today and no steelies available that will fit our car.

It appears that the new Interceptor has 16in steelies, anyone have an idea when they will be available?

Funny thing about the 19 in SHO wheels, They apprear to be the same exact rim design as the Euro Focus ST.
Kinda bummed me out when I saw it on an episode of Top Gear.

I'm going to see if the 17in rims from my 2006 Mustang GT will fit over the brakes on the SHO. That would be a very cheap option, as the rims are very available cheap, and the tires would be cheaper too.

I changed my summer only 18 inch rims on my 06 Mustang GT
to my cold weather factory 17's the other day.
So I figured that I would see if the rumor that Mustang rims
would fit the new SHO.
I can confirm that they do. The factory 17x8 inch bullet style
rims of the S197 (2005-09) do clear the brakes, by about 3/8 of an inch.
The 18x9 inch deep dish bullets I have give more clearance.
I believe that the 18 have a 30 mm offset, but I'm not positive.
Since many Mustang guys change rims, you can regularly find
sets of 18x8's cheap, especially on the Mustang message boards,
like 500 or less complete with tires.
I forgot to take a photo of the 17's, but they are the same height (235/55/17) but here a some of the 18's,
compared to the factory 19in SHO.
Remember that the tires are 255/45/18, ( are all but worn out)
I would definitely go with a taller sidewall on the SHO with 18's.

tirerack.com has a program where you can view the tires you want on your vehicle; they sell 22" tires for the 2010 SHO, how low profile can you get?

What do you have to be aware of if you switch to 18" tires for the winter?

I just installed 18" Drag dr-35 flat black wheels with Blizzak ws70 snow tires. Tire size is 225/60/18. Dry pavement handling is awesome, but they ride a little bouncier and handling feels different as well, but they are not by any means. Im sure they will perform awesome in the snow and ice.

I am about to buy 18 inches wheels and tires for the coming winter... How was your winter with the Blizzak ws70?
Thanks Bill!

I ran 18" rims with Blizzak 70's last winter in upstate NY and they were good all around. My last car was a Lexus rx300 with Nokia snow tires. That car/tire combination was better in the snow, but loud and soft on dry roads.

I am glad I skipped the TPMS gear. The occasional warning is no big deal.

I am still waiting for someone to figure out a way to temporarily shut off the Stabilitrack function.

Go for it, they were awesome. I will be buying a tpms kit this year though because the chime and yellow light is annoying. My car plowed through deep snow without a single issue.

Isn't it something that can be removed with the SCT device? Maybe we could ask Dan at LMS if he knows how...
I like the look of the 18 inches mags of the Mustang GT (like shown above), so I will try to find a set, if not I might end up buying plain black wheels in steel and have the undercover cop look for 80$ per wheel. As for the tires... I will try to find a used set of 4 if possible. I want to keep it cheap as expenses on that car are piling up quite fast... I think I will end up the first year at 20K$ on that car!!!
Thanks for the recommendation,
Steve

Geezuz......

My Lord...... look at the amount of room in that fender wheel well

I can fist that opening and lose my arm all the way up to my shoulder given those clearances.

:shakehead
It would need more side band and with the H&R springs, you can remove 1.5 inches... The results would be not too bad imo. That said, I think I am heading towards black plain wheels for the winter (undercover cop look) on 18 inches (for the cost, but also because there aren't any affortable mags on 18 inches that convinced me to put the emphasis on), so I'd rather just blend it black wheel, ********* 18'' tires, on a black car that is lowered, I think that would be my best options... I know for sure that I will be waiting impatiently for spring to come back to see the car on 20's again!!!
