Thanks for the experiment, now I know exactly how mine would look, I partial to the nickel, and not just because I havnt spent the jack on the chromies.

How much is shipping from Michigan to Western Canada? Lol :dribble:
Assuming of course that you prefer the Nickel. ;)

Thanks Zeus.....I'm leaning toward keeping them right now.....but if you're interested I can hook you up. Expect just under $1000 US w/exchange and a lead time of somewhere between two weeks and a month.

I've seen them on a black car and there is no question about their looks on the black car.....that's one of the reasons I did it. I'm just having a bit of buyers remorse after seeing them in certain lighting conditions. Since they are so reflective they arent as bright in lower light conditions as the factory wheels.

I wish I would have sprung for the additional $800 for another set of tires so I could swap them out whenever the mood struck me, I just drew the line at the $1800 it set me back. (between the wheels I bought for core and the chroming)

Mmm, that is expensive. Maybe I should look for a local shop that uses that "chroming" paint. Or is the process so new that there might not be anyone here doing it yet? Time for some google searching......

There are some guys in my area doing the chroming paint, so you should be able to find someone in your area too bro. If not, you may have yourself the market for your own chrome painting. :naughty:

This is a special vacuum chamber PVD chrome plating and robotically applied powder clear. This isn't the standard chrome paint process (Or for that matter a standard chrome PLATING process). Not saying that it can't be done with more rudimentary equipment, but the results may be less than desireable.

After doing some searching I haven't been able to find anyone in Western Canada let alone my city that has the equipment for this process.....

Interesting business opportunity indeed..... I have quite a few contacts in the automotive business having worked for Chrysler for 14 years. I wonder what this equipment costs? It's not a bad idea. There is a market for this.

Hmmmm

You need to tint your windows. This is 35%, very light.

DSC 5866

I think you should tint them as dark as mine..... (5% all the way around and 20% on the entire front windshield).

Then you can tie in the black lower rocker panels from top to bottom, and leave the Chrome wheels on to tie in the chrome from front to back.

Thats what I am doing. The 35 is coming off and I am going 5 all around and 50 on the windshield.

So I was playing with the wheels I took off of my minivan....(They are 20's too!)

Don't beat me up....it was just an experiment!

I love the chrome look.

You need to get a driveway or garage so you can park somewhere else other than your lawn. ;)

A thank you for everyone that commented on my Chrome vs Silver thread. I feel a little better about my purchase now....even though it didn't make the car "POP" like I was hoping for.
