Having owned an SRT-4 when they first came out (2003?), mine was silver, and I got rid of that awful fast and furious rear wing and put on a shorter SXT wing instead. Also had Eibach springs, cross-drilled rotors, front and rear strut tower bars, etc. No stage kits, pretty much stock up front, except for a Mopar BOV. I'll tell you what, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that SRT-4 would SMOKE an SHO in stock trim. That SRT-4 was one QUICK little car, and with the addition of one of the stage kits, that thing would be even faster.

I enjoy the SHO for what it is, a rather unique version of the Taurus, pretty darn quick for a family car, love the 5-speed, and of course that gorgeous engine. But, there's no way I'd go looking for races in that thing. Parts and labor will keep my right foot in check, because I don't want to break something, then faint to the floor when I find out what it's going to cost to fix.

But it's definitely fun to hear that engine come alive above 4000 rpms, and watch it scoot along, blasting past cars where the drivers have a look on their faces like, "huh?, that's a Taurus?", lol...

Ahhh, I removed my rear wing one time but the paint under it was all crapped out.

I went with an AGP WGA (21psi:evilgrin:), CAI, 3" TBE w/3" O2 housing, solid MM's, and an Apexi AFCII (tuned to 11.8:1 AFR).

First and second gear were useless, but watch out when she hooked!!:dribble:

I agree with you on the SHO, I love winding it out and seeing people faces. Plus, my Gen 1 gets a fair amount of attention. It's always clean and sounds good too.

But, my SRT4, oh man, I must have touched 130mph every day!:dribble:

So wise you have became........

My only thing is people that say these cars are fast.

They're just not anymore. In a car world where Sienna minivans run 15.6, a 15.1 SPORT sedan just isn't fast.

I love my SHO, don't get me wrong. It's been in my family for 9 years and we've put a lot of time and money into it. To me, it's a piece of automotive history. I pride myself in driving down the road and my original paint looking better than 6 year old cars. It's fun to drive a 20yr old car. But I will NEVER call it fast, not after some of the cars I've driven. Strap yourself into a modified 2003 Cobra and tell me the SHO is fast. We're not talking a $40K, a Termi is $20K now!

I mean hey, some of the OLD Ferrari's run 0-60 in the 6's and 7's. Do we call them fast? Nope.

Zach im robbie. the car has no major mods YET i do have plans for it however. Only having the car for five days I have added 10,000k H.i.d. headlights to it and some interior neon but as for anything else haven't started that yet. I plan on new exhaust, probably straight pipe and a few minor engine mods, one being a small turbo possibly.

first. please dont straight pipe.. it will sound like a ****** off bumblbee. it want a real aggresive sound choose cherrybomb glasspack mini's. a mellow rumble sound choose a good turbo muffler. even mustang mufflers will work but they hang a little low. neons....... be very carefull.... alot of people hate on them but it looks good if tastefully done. i myself have blue under my intake manifold so it lights up through my snakes. also have shit loads of blue led's left im trying to sell.
