Well I have a rematch with my friend with the SRT8 Jeep tonight and figured I would try something..
I had a filter laying arround from a Turbo kit that I bought for my STI so I went to the hardware store and spent $14.00 and change..
Anyway, not the prettiest or most functional probably but we will see if it adds any power tonight..
I will let you know after I get back...
Wish me luck...:woo-hoo:

Bill

Oh, here are a couple pics of what I put together..

Not bad for a quick job, good luck though... those things have about 50 more hp and bet are geared a lot lower... so long range you should win, but not sure off the line. The Jeep does weigh a good bit more.

Let us know how it goes.

This is what 16 year olds do to their Hondas to try to be as fast as the cars they see on Fast and the Furious. If it would have worked out, I'd be eating my words, but why do this to a $38,000 car? Ah well, I guess I'd try eveything I could too if I blew 38k on a car that weighed 4,368lb. At that price you could have bought a real nice 2nd gen and dropped a killer motor/tranny in it, and made it faster than your current car. At 3,472 lb, almost 1,000lb less weight, plus you can still take more off, with an engine that is more powerful than the ecoboost, youd be having fun with your toy all day ;)

I might just be a hater because I'll never afford a 4th gen, but then again, Ford really screwed up on making that car a huge full sized boat. I bet theyll be scratching their heads when they have a million of these cars in overstock and have to give em away ;)

You're not hitting ecoSHO power without boost on a V6. Your build is going to be expensive, and then, while you are spinning your tires trying to launch the thing, the AWD in the ecoSHO will have it too far ahead for you to catch.

BUt this is assuming you can dump a killer motor/tranny combo in without breaking things ;)

Yup, you'd also look like a retard for putting 38k into a 20yr old Taurus. These dont even compare, an old ass sedan compared to a brand new one with options that make the old SHO look like a horse carriage

Maybe, but you'd have one badass horse carriage.

To each their own, I would have bought a really clean 2nd gen, suped it up a little, and have money to blow leftover ;) Thats just me personally tho. I still wish I had a 4th gen, just not for 38k :p

p.s. after seeing my SHO in front of my house for many years, my neighbor across the street went and bought a 2010 SHO to add to his collection.

Ironic how its white, like mine, and I can ALWAYS clearly see it from anywhere in my house.

I think hes rubbing it in since he sees my car running for 2 weeks, then on ramps or a jack or jack stands for 3 days, then back on the road again.

He just happily hops in his Gen4 Boat and dips out. :(

so sad.

And you'd have the pleasure of needing to weld in SFCs from the start to reduce some of the rattling from the interior bits.

I'd rather have the unibody from our 70K 2006 Freestyle than a 50K Gen I/II SHO, gosh to think the 2006 five-hundred / Freestlye unibody is the same essential platform the 2010 SHO rolls on too...

As a former SHO owner.... (4 - 89,90,91 & 93 Automatic) I can only imagine what he thinks of my EcoBrick!

If you don't like the $15. intake, A SCT tuner in FL will sell you the Hennessey CAI kit for $800. large.... which is a deal.... considering the MFG.

I like the custom CAI look.... Call me "RICE ROCKET ROB" (and the carriage works grille, rear hatch spoiler, candy apple red/white paint job .....etc!)

Thanks fellas for letting me post over here. Especially since I also have 2 tuned G8 Gt's ( with fancy CAI's).... DRONE KINGS if you don't delete the 4 cyl mode....
