This question is for the "People" in the know with Police vehicles. What is usually the cost on these police interceptors from Ford? (Before the local police department starts adding all their stuff.)
For example: If a standard (Consumer) SHO cost is around $42,000, how much more (Or less) would the SHO Interceptor be?

I'm assuming it would be way cheaper for law enforcement to buy these sho's since they would be buying such a large number of them as fleets... like buying in bulk..... the more you buy the cheaper it gets?

Fleet vehicles have a different price on them. I know that at our dealership, sometimes you might sell a bunch of vehicles to a company. An example is a bunch of fleet F-150's/Escapes. There isnt much profit on them. Where they get the money is servicing the vehicles at our dealership.

Depending on the police force, they may service their own vehicles.

You also have to keep in mind that these vehicles will have a higher re-sale value. you can buy a crown vic for pretty cheap these days. and did anyone else notice only the passenger side angel eye was lit up?

THey will bedecontented compared to a SHO I would imagine. No heated/cooled seats for example. Besides saving weight, that will save money.

I cant see too many P.I. SHO's being ordered by law enforcement agencies. Having specialty chase/pursuit vehicles doesnt seem too common here in Canada. I know that Toronto use to have two pursuit Camaro's.....although one of them was totaled in a crash and i dont know what happened to the other.

You might see them as undercover vehicles though. I've seen an SRT-4 neon U.C. police car in my town. Was a little bit odd lol

When I worked for a public works dept here in town, I remember seeing 4 CVPI getting delivered to our mechanic with window stickers that were right around 20,000 each FWIW. I want to say they were 2008 models.

Your typical new CVPI runs about $25k-$26k these days. I'm trying to figure out how Ford is going to get the EcoBoost AWD version down to $30k as that's way below A-Plan on a new base SHO, and no dept is going to have $35k+ to shell out on these things. I also just read that the PI will also have optional BLIS, rearview camera (spoiler equipped cars only), reverse sensing system, cross traffic alert and SYNC, power 6-way seats and the list goes on and on. So I'm not sure what's actually getting decontented like we thought it would

CVPI window stickers are MSRP. Regardless if you buy 1000 of them or whatever.

Last I checked, a CVPI stickered close to 30,000 dollars.

Now, most state contracts buy CVPIs for 21,500. The same that you can buy a Hemi Charger for. Impalas can be bought for 20 grand all day long.

And of course, as Toolman said, they will be decontented. No Carpet, no leather, no keyless go, probably no paddle shifters, 20" rims, premium sound, etc.

I think the EB PI will be 30% of sales. 70% will be the Cyclone 3.5L.
