I noticed yesterday that with the climate controls OFF... I can hear the vents blowing loudly and with lots of heat... turns out it is mostly the defrost vent and I can feel heat in the floor, but not with force. And if I turn on the climate control... nothing happens (no changes rather)... any mode.
Then I noticed that NO buttons work for the radio... not even the power/volume. It just stays on and nothing is changeable.
Anyone have any ideas?
(As much as I'd love to have a NEW sho... this one needs to stick around for several more years!!!!!!!)

I can't remember what exactly it was when this happened to me, but it's either the fuse under the dash, the relay under the hood or the plug behind the EATC. Like I said, I can't remember exactly which one I did, but it will fix it. It defaults to high fan defrost when one of those three are bad or unplugged.

Reboot the Climate Control.

how do you do that?
I checked all fuses and they look good. I also replaced the blower relay... which did not fix anything.
Now nothing with the radio works... it is dead.

There is a thread on TCCA about rebooting the EATC. Some special combo of buttons pushed has brought more than one back from the dead.

Can't search now as it's near midnight and TCCA goes into a one or two hour snooze.

Thanks guys. I just checked TCCA and I think I found the thread. Apparently running the self test reboots it.
I tried the self test earlier today and I never did get a diagnostic code....
Paul, you posted this in that thread:
The blower is run through a relay under the hood. This can go bad or burn up the connector.
THat is the reason I replaced that relay today... because the old relay looked scorched to me. The new relay did not help. Is the connector in the PD Box fried?
Also, I checked ebay... not a single EATC/ football on there :nut:

So you did not get the 888?
Actually no.
After pushing the OFF and the FLOOR buttons simultaneously... As soon as I push the AUTO button, the screen stays BLANK. No buttons work either... except if I push the defrost button, then 000 will appear on the screen, then the buttons will ACT like they work again, of course, they actually do NOT.
Oddly enough, on my way home today, I was messing with it. I actually got the test to work... with --- reading on the display. But nothing else ever happened... no codes or anything. The heat FINALLY stopped blowing while that happened. I thought it was fixed. I tried the vent button, as air started to come out the vent, I turned the fan up... then it died again, and heat started blowing out the defrost!
Also, on my way home from work, the radio was working fine. Then after I THOUGHT the EATC was fixed (but wasn't)... the radio died again!

Just a thought, have you checked for water near the cd changer/harness?
Had a gen 4 freak out and then go dead after water settled in the recess where the changer is mounted.

today I ran the self test again... this time it worked and gave a code... go figure. Code 195 (communication error ICP and RCC or something) After the test, all seems fine. How strange...
