Well my fan decided to take a crap on me a few days ago, and now I have a new one in there. Verified it by "hotwiring" it, and she spins just fine. But now it seems like my relay isn't kicking it on. It was before, but for some reason its not now. Is there any way to trick the ECM to close that contact.. kinda like how you can ground out the one pin to run the Fuel Pump.

I let it warm up... then ran the motor for a little while until it got warm, and it was near the top of the guage and it still hadn't come on. I need to get another one of those thermometers so I can see what that temp is.. but from what I recall.. I shoulda been around 200 or so... a bit over where the thermostat should have opened. I just wonder if I possibly might have runied something by burning up that motor.

Anyone?

when my fan motor ate itself, i ended up replacing it with an aftermarket fan. when i went to hardwire it into the stock wiring, i learned when the fan cooked, so did the wiring leading to it...thus the switch by my guage cluster.

Switch by gauge cluster? Where is this? The wire was awfully warm... and half melted the other end of the connector, but where does the other end go? Where could I get a tester on it to check for continuity.

Ok riddle me this. My A/C isnt charged... so the compressor wont kick on, but does the fan kick on after it see's a signal from the A/C Compressor? Or is that controlled by the CCRM seperatly?

Sorry so many questions... :)

if the wiring is fried. dont run a toggle.

Summit has a fan wiring kit for 99 bucks that will control it per temp as its supposed to.

Eric, even if you turn on the defrost, the fan should kick on. Mine does. If it doesn't maybe you did burn up a relay or something. Do what kikkin suggested, whack the ccrm.

Well... when I got it home the other day... it was switched on... cause it was throwing sparks when I yanked the connector. So somehow it knows to turn on. When I turn on the defrost tho, or the max a/c... nothing.

I coudln't get it warm enough for the temp to get "up there" maybe I'll go beat on it tommorow afternoon, see if I can't get it nice and warm again.

when i wired up the new fan, i ran all new wiring to a switch in the dash from the battery and grounded it to the lower bolt on an intake support bracket. so far, nary A problem, even sitting in chicago traffic with the outside temp reading triple digits.
