Ok. I would like to take a cruise to Duluth before we all have to put the SHO's away. The dates that I am available to do so, are saturday October 10th, and the 17th.

Some ideas that have been thrown around a bit are to go to gooseberry falls state park, maybe grill there if we can. We could also do some things around Duluth, there is the aquarium, the Depot, tours of the Cutter Sundew, and so on. Mabey some of the Duluth natives can chime in on some stuff to do also.

If the 17th is the date chosen, i am going to see if I can get my trans replaced the weekend before so i can actually drive my sho instead of hers. We could make that into a meet also if anyone is interested. LOL.

So lets hear what you guys think. Throw some ideas of things you would like to do also.

Prices:

The Aquarium
open 10am-6pm
adults $14.50
kids 3-17 $8.50

The Depot
open 10am-5pm
No prices on web site

Tours of Wiliam Irvin
adults $9.00
Kids are free with adult

Tours of Sundew
Adults $5.00
Kids $3.00

If anyone is interested in staying in Duluth for the night, i get 12% off at the country inn and the Americinn. Also, 25% off rooms at Edgewater.

I would also like to go for a cruise. As of now either weekend works for me.

Im not sure what Duluth has to entertain us but it looks like you have done some researching and that looks like a nice sized list.

I think some northerners need to put in their .02

Just so this is known now, Gooseberry Falls is about 1 hour up the north shore. So, if we go there it would put drive time at about 3 hours one way. I have never been there, but it is supposed to be gorgeous.

Joe... great idea to come up to our neck of the woods lol... its so hard for us to make a meet down there... i live an hour north of duluth so this is a nice surprise to be able to just drive an hour to have a meet... also anything in Canal Park is great, whether its the restaurants or just the culture... i will see what else is or may be going on down there those weekends and keep u guys posted...

Gooseberry Falls is beautiful, especially in the fall. If anyone wants some place really inexpensive to stay there's a place in Silver Bay called the Mariner Motel that my wife and I stayed at a couple years ago that's not fancy but clean and cheap.

It would be a cool photo op having everyone's SHOs by the lift bridge or on the island after the lift bridge.

Any of you guys checked out jay cooke state park lately? The entire thing has been repaved from the ground up, not a pothole in sight and very smooth. If anyone is interested check it out on google maps, its quite the fun drive, very twisty, and alot of really fun corners. not Many PO PO up this way at all either.

Any thoughts on a specific date?

I just realized that i have a wedding on the 17th that i NEED to be at so i could go either the 10th or 11th but it has to bee that weekend.

Does anyone prefer to go on a sunday? Or is saturday the best?

Well, consider yourself in. I have been thinking, since we are spread all over the metro area, mabey we could meet in forest lake. If we need to get a further north of the cities, there is a park and ride off the hwy 17 exit, which is just south of north branch that we could meet at.

I say 6am meet at forest lake! Gives the entire day to play in duluth after getting up there.

But thats also because I have no chance in **** of getting the day off.
