all of a sudden yesterday after rain the engine seems to have a miss and my power has dropped significently...

now... i did check the front 3 wires and plugs and all looks well, I was hoping it might be another issue other than the plugs as the rear 3 look like complete b***h to get to.

any ideas?

Hmmm I guess I would still check the back three to be safe. Other than that not much is coming to mind.

Out in front!
No water in plug wells? Is the Chek engine light on ? If not then test the resistance in your plug wires they should all be very close .

umm... ok... thought that would be the answer... looks like I got a days worth of work tomorrow.

I know there is a thread for this already... but anyone know where I can find instructions on how to remove the manifold?

Make sure the weatherstrip isn't hanging off where it seals the hood to the upper firewall area. Opening the hood has a tendency to loosen it off sometimes and that's why water got into the rear bank area. Use some adhesive designed for rubber and glue it on.

Change the plug wires. Sometimes the insulating properties of the boots are destroyed and they arc over into the wells instead of the plugs. This happens a lot if water gets in there.

You'd know if a vacuum leak is present because the motor would idle slightly higher and a hissing sound would be present.

DIS, CPS, CID, COIL. Those are all options.. Run the codes and see what it says. What plugs did you use? And i agree with chris.... moisture = VURY BAD.

too... many... acronyms....

DIS=Distributorless Ignition System (gray thing on the passenger side of the manifold that has 2 plugs that plug into it..says Motorcraft on it)

CPS=Crankshaft Position Sensor; located behind the timing cover and can cause the car to intermittently shut off after the water pump leaks onto it. It's a PITA to do so you do it when you do a front 60k...or if your car starts shutting off on you at random.

CID=Cam Sensor, easier to get to than the crank sensor, located on the same side, just bolts on I believe. Can cause a no-start issue at time.

I have an extra DIS in the trunk; if you, me, and ycode90 can meet up soon, we can all help out fixing each others cars. I've got some long outstanding issues with mine that I'd like to take care of but would rather knock it out quick and easy with knowledgeable SHO people.

Mine just started making some off and on "wooing" noise at idle or when driving. I have no idea what it is.
