As long as you don't run it long enough to get it hot. If you don't hear the whine w/ the belt off then you know it is a belt driven part that is making the noise. Most likely the P/S pump (all Ford P/S pumps make noise) or maybe the a/c compressor or alternator. Before putting the belt back on, turn each pulley by hand to feel for friction or binding.

I've got some 3.2 parts that are new in a box at home. Idler pulleys, timing tensioner, timing belt idler pulleys, etc. Let me know if you're interested.

I am actually buying parts to do the front 60k on my now also. On rock auto, you can get everything but the Water Pump and Crankshaft Pos. Sensor for about $85 shipped. The water pump and cps you can get at RCM for $60 each. These prices are for the 3L mtx front 60k not including tools (Steering wheel puller, awl, o ring pick) So i'm assuming it will be a little less for you because there is only 1 belt.

Louder when the engine runs faster, or when you have your foot on the throttle more?

Neither the ps pump nor the belts/idlers should care how much you are on the throttle. It almost sounds like you have a little intake leak or something like that....

Look up the crankshaft seal kit. Its way less then the crank seal by itself and includes gaskets that can be changed while your tearing into it. Also shop around online at all the partstores. I had a list of parts for each store and saved money by price matching and driving to different stores. Like the CPS sensor. I think autozone wanted $80 and I got the same part for around $21 with lifetime warranty at another at another store. Dont order online at some of those places. You end up spending more for the same part plus shipping. If you find it online cheaper just print out the page and take it to the parts store to get it priced match.

Timing cover seal kit is 14.99 and includes the crank seal

Yes its Felpro but I havent had any problems with those seals and im ******* the car.

Do you happen to have the part number for all the items you needed?
