I have a 95 SHO and it's developed a pretty serious oil leak. I am not mechanically inclined and wondered whether it's worth repairing. Car runs great and not much wrong with it. Don't seem to have to add much oil, but I have oil spots near the front. Any ideas on cost? Thanks for any help. I have been a long time reader here, just don't post much.

If its just an oil leak its worth fixin I think your front seal could be leaking and those are not to bad is the oil leaking by the harmonic ballancer or buy the oil filter area

front as in the belt side of the motor, or the front of the car?

How many miles?

Maintenance history?

bad sign, you need to sell it to me for $500 bucks...ASAP...

j/k really, it's probably something minor...and you should be able to get the gaskets easy enough...

It truly depends on where oil is leaking from, and what value you place on the car.

If it's an oil pan seal or the oil pressure sending unit, both are relatively easy and inexpensive if paying a shop to have it repaired. The front main is more difficult and more expensive. The rear main seal, which requires the transmission be pulled, is much more labor intensive, and thus much more expensive if paying to have it done.

That's also why you will always get recommendations to change the front and rear main seals, anytime you're doing other maintenance in that area.

Man, the cam seals are leaking in both my cars . Mine's actually getting pretty bad, I create clouds every time I stop. I should make a shield over the cat so the oil at least doesn't drip on that!

Leak Pics

Here are the best pics I can get. Real tight underneath. I hope this helps show what some have asked. While I appreciate all the offers to "take it off my hands" and the grand offer of $500 I think I will pass for now. I have loved this car since I bought and could pay to get it fixed. Just want to know rough cost and options. Especially if any good mechanic in Denver North area that could take it on. :thankyou:
