I live in the Seattle area and I have a '95 ATX SHO. It currently has the Michelin MXV4 plus in the stock 215/60 16 size. I upgraded the suspension with Koni adjustables, Eibach progressives, and sub-frame connectors. I am looking to upgrade to the Yokohama AVS ES100's in the 225/55 16 size. I have performed several searches and one or two said that they were thinking about them also, but I didn't see a update. I have read the reviews on Tirerack.com and they are very good.

I drive the car aggressively and throughout the year in all road condition except for snow over a half inch. My question is this. Who has run these tires? How did they handle in dry AND wet? Are the fairly quiet? How is the tread wear?

Your input and suggestions are greatly appreciated! burn_out

Also look at the Bridgestone SO-3's. I have them and they grip very well. It has been raining down here so much and they give me great confidence on the wet road. I can't speak for snow, since we haven't had that in quite a while.

Thanks for the replys to the question on the Yokohama ES100 tires. I just had them installed and I LOVE them! They have great handling, response, smooth ride, quiet, and looks! I went with the 225/55 16 size.

If you are wondering why my name is JUDDBLADE instead of SHOBLADE, let me explain. I went into the "View/change my profile" and made a couple of additions. My email address was the old one and I meant to change it. I logged out and when I went to log back in and change the email address to the correct one it wouldn's let me in. I have tried everything I know and had no luck so I started a new screen name. I have emailed the main contact ( [email protected] ) three times and still haven't heard anything.

Does anyone have another contact to get this handled?

Again, THANK YOU for the info on the tires.

I have the Yokohama AVSdb, 225-60-16, great tires, quiet, wear well, great in wet - NO hydroplaning, and cool looking tread. Live in Fremont area of Seattle, the "Center of the Universe" according to the welcome sign.

Well I bought the ES 100's about a month ago and LOVE them! They track, ride, look and handle great! Great in dry AND wet! Very quiet and smooth. Best tires I have owned! I got them through Discount Tire and they matched Tirerack.com's price of $85 per tire! I got the 225/55 16 size. I have a before and after pic on one jpg to show how much nicer they look, also. If desired, email me at [email protected] to request a copy of it or if you have any questions.

sunny San Juan Bautista,
It's cool having a tire that "owns" the rain isn't it? Glad these have lived up to their hype as being the successor to the AVS-I.
