first and foremost, im back! yay!.
did a quick search, it eliminated x/h b/c was too common.... sure

i need to get a y-pipe for my 3.2auto.

now the stupid question:

can i bolt/weld on a h-pipe or x-pipe? looking underneath the car im not sure it would even fit.

side note: i basically need to get new exhaust from the motor to the tips. everything. i plan on staying catless, prolly cutting resonator out(if i have one) and re-doing the hangers and mounts for the exhaust as well if need be.

If you have the y-pipe and bring it to a single exhaust you can not fit a x or h pipe.

We do have ATX y-pipes:
Catco

Walker

We do have a catback: SHO Source

For the ATX we need to do some testing as we did test it on an ATX and it worked but on a couple others it needed to be tweeked slightly.

well, right now it has a stock very yucky y-pipe. i was thinking of removing that and going x or h pipe. and it doesnt sound too bad right now without cats. and my dads 93 5speed has no cats and no resonator and it sounds pretty good, there is some rasp but yeah idk. it ****** off the neighbors when he leaves for work in the morning but hey isnt that what were all here for anyways?

maybe i can mock up some things and see what it sounds like before it would get welded in.

i have access to a shop with all the tools ill need for just about anything

I don't understand why you want an x/h pipe. Those are for true dual exhaust systems which we don't have.

If you want an X pipe you will have to fabricate a duel exhaust system otherwise it would be pointless.
There are no bolt on kits for something like this.
If your handy with a welder and fancy a difficult project,go for it.
Otherwise expect to pay an exhaust builder a large amount of money.

Personally I'd recommend an aftermarket Y pipe then hack off the collector and use a different better flowing 2-1 collector.

well, i know theres no kit i was just wanting to put true dual on it, might as well be different right? i myself am not handy with a welder but have access to one and i have a few people who are that would do it for free or for prolly nothing. most likely ill end up going with an aftermarket y-pipe the more i think about it. wont happen till summer and i get a job. in a few weeks we will be doing the valve cover gaskets intake gaskets plugs and wires, waiting on the plug wires to ship, coming from cali. no more oil in my plug wells! oh and hopefully painting the car black... im tired of silver

You would need to fabricate a true dual system to get any benifit and even then it wont be much. The pipes would need to be around 1.75 diameter.

I'd recommend duel 2" or 1 7/8th's if you can find it.
Even building a simple single exit is a bit tricky, pumbing two pipes all the way back with an X pipe in the mix will be difficult.

2.25" that follows the same pattern as the stock pipe with high flow cats really opens the ATX up. I have the old SHOShop ATX Y-pipe, and felt a difference, especially in the top end.
