the other codes seam to be 189 & 181 which are "Fuel system at part throttle rich adaptive limit, system lean" for the front and rear banks

the car has normal AFR's when theres manifold vacuum, but as soon as it starts to build any boost, it just pegs lean

tweecer is operating properly
MAF seams to be working properly, and was cleaned today
we also pulled the batery cable to reset the eec, no change

i know that some cars react horribly when the coolant sensor dies, im wondering if that could be the prob (or part of the prob) here

and the prob started instantly, one day it was fine, the next it was running like junk

any thoughts ?

It is a ~$20 sensor. Wouldn't hurt to replace it anyway. But I would say that could be part of the issue, seeing the computer adds or pulls fuel base on the sensor readings.

problem will be investigated further tomorrow, as alex had to go get sleep so he could pull his next overnighter @ work. we ran out of time today

we didnt even have time to look the codes up online b4 he left, so there was no time to check anything based on the actual codes

Although the problems surrounding this car have since been addressed in another thread, I thought I would answer the thread's opening question by saying that, based on our current knowledge and understanding of the '94-'95 D4U1 calibration, an open ECT circuit (or code) by itself will not cause the EEC to command a lean fuel mixture.
