Winter tire size...

I have 215/60 R16 written down... Just wondering if this is the correct tire size? I was looking for some winter tires, but was surprised that I got a limited selection for this particular size. Just wondering if it was right or not...

Any ideas on brands? I don't want to spend over $100 per tire... I don't even really want to spend much over $80

Cause I have to buy new summers after the snow melts. 17" Z rated tires=NOT CHEAP

I think up in Burlington, Nokia is a favorite, I seemed to see all the cars having those on in the winter last year. I had cooper snows on my saab which I got from Sears, and my dad was an idiot and only got 2 put on... Yeah that's right, my ass end was slipping aroud more than a 400hp RWD car. I never got stuck though, even with some of the crap that we got handed last year, and every friday-sunday I'd travel to and from Smuggler's Notch which got alittle crazy with the snow. I think all 4 wouldn't be bad at all, and you have the option to stud the tires. Just remember, thinner is better for snows, so you won't float on the snow like a wider tire would.

Michelin Arctic Alpine'e or Bridgestone Blizzak's are very good, even on bare ice. I can honestly say that they are even better that the older winter grip tires with studs!

Really? You thought the Arctic Alpins were good? Cause the ******* at the tire shop said that they were basically worthless and he had people tell him that they didn't grip very well. Hmmmm? Lemme know, I'd be interested to find out.

Well, my friend has the Alpins on his van and he likes them alot. But it's a AWD Caravan so that might skew the results a little. I've had the Blizzaks and they are awesome! They might not be as effective on RWD cars but with FWD they're great, even better than the studded winter grips I had previously. So, if you want to play it safe, get the Blizzaks. I think they are about the same price as the Alpin's.
